  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Don't worry about the rules.

Yes, I mean that, put aside obey the right rules and abstaining from the bad rules. They are not as important as this:

Having a relationship with Jesus Christ is the only important thing you should be concentrating your attention on. I know it sounds amost like blasphemy, but that is all Jesus wants. He wants to be intimately related with you. Concentrate on Him. Focus on Him. Look only to Him. Love only Him.

Obedience of the rules in God's word comes out in our lives as a natural fruit of just loving Jesus. When we first get saved there is a mighty struggle within. The old sin nature and it's absolute control over our lives is destroyed, and Christ rules triumphantly in our hearts. However, the sinful self still tries to regain control over your life. Doubts are a product of the old self trying to reassert control over the new self in Christ.

Doubts are normal and we will always struggle with them, but we are more than conquerors through Christ. As we grow in our relationship with Christ, the doubts will gradually lesson, but never completely go away, b ut Christ is in your heart forever. He is more powerful than the strongest doubt.

Focus not on living according to a strict moral code, instead focus on living a life that pleases Jesus because you love Him and want to make Him happy. When you fail, admit, repent and He will forgive and restore.

God bless you and I pray He will always be the dearest part of your heart and life.

Welcome! If you are new to Christ, or shall I say, if Christ is new to you, I think its kinda normal to have some doubts, its hard taking all this in, and knowing where to start in your journey of faith! The devil knows that you are new, and is trying to trick you. Don't be decieved! Praying will take you VERY far in your relationship with God, so do that.. OFTEN. And, firstly, knowing who God is and what he's done is always a good thing, learning more about him, and the bible. I'm starting to Read John, I think its probably a good beginning spot. Anyway, and also, just keep your focus on God, pray that he may guide you to keep your focus, and everyday rejoice and unite within him even more.

I'll pray for you!

-Your sister in Christ

If you have doubts, pray this prayer, "Lord, I believe. Help my unbelief." In fact, I believe that is the same thing Doubting Thomas said to Jesus when he was doubting Jesus' resurrection. This prayer is very helpful and I have learned to use it a lot myself.

Well people have already said is from the Devil. I had doubts a couple of weeks after I became a Christian. I found it so difficult but i had a friend who had taken me to Church and she explained that after you become a Christian the enemy tries to attack you. This certaintly happened to me. I had doubts but they soon come to pass as God is there, He wants you to be a Christian and serve Him. It will come to pass just continue to believe in Christ.

Matthew 6:5-15
(5) And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.
(6) But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.
(7) But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.
(8) Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him.
(9) After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.
(10) Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
(11) Give us this day our daily bread.
(12) And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
(13) And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.
(14) For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you:
(15) But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.
