Windows 10 updated in the early morning hours (05-15-2021). This morning, as I was typing on this forum, I started to notice keystrokes being dropped. It felt like lag, but it wasn't, it was some sort of malfunction. I unplugged the keyboard (Razer Huntsman Elite) and plugged it back in, but it didn't fix the problem. I plugged in another keyboard and it worked fine. This pointed to a driver or hardware issue with my Razer keyboard.
I went to the Razer website and downloaded the firmware updater. My firmware hadn't been updated since I purchased the keyboard two years ago. After updating the firmware the issue cleared up.
My guess is that there was a new Windows driver installed today that conflicts with an old firmware version in the keyboard, thus causing an issue to crop up over time where keystrokes are dropped.
I am posting this here in case anyone else has this issue with a Razer keyboard.
