Well, a simple answer would be that Solomon was the wisest man that ever lived, but Christ was more than simply a man, so he (Christ) cannot be compared to men.

I'm not sure how good of an answer this is, but it is an answer.

Jesus was given the "Spirit" without measure. Solomon's "wisdom" was mostly from a carnal aspect, whereas Jesus wisdom came directly through the Holy Spirit - He did only that which was pleasing to the father, even at the age of 12.

Solomon spent a lifetime striving for wisdom, and after a long life doing anything and everything his heart desired, he finally concluded:

Ecclesiastes 12:13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.

On a *slightly* different note, some historians believe that Paul was more influential than Jesus. In a spiritual sense that is absolutely blasphemous, but since the historian (ive forgotten his name) is not a christian, I can see his point.

Well, it's possible that the physical person of Paul reached out to more people than the physical person of Jesus. However, since even Paul is living through Christ, Christ is still the most influential.

Solomon's wisdom ultimately came from God. Jesus WAS God, therefore, I fail to see how Solomon's wisdom could be greater.

Also, b ear in mind that these are two covenants we're talking about. Solomon may havew been a wise man THEN, but in Jesus time he was the wisest man. Knight also had a good answer.

But isn't Solomon called the wisest man ever? In such a way it indicates he was the wisest of any man that had lived or will ever live? Or was it just the wisest of any up to and at that point in time?

Jesus fulfilled all of his fathers wishest - thats pretty darned wise. But Jesus did not write the book of philosophical mathematics in the industry of astro neuro surgery for the advanced practitioner. -- How do you even describe wise? Was Solomon wise in head knowledge, or just wise in his ways? If he was wise in his ways, then he wasnt as wise as Jesus, because Jesus did EVERYTHING the FATHER wanted him to do. If he was wise in his head knowledge then outwardly he may have been wiser than Jesus, but Jesus could (If he wanted to) quote everything there is to know about philosophical mathematics in the industry of astro neuro surgery for the advanced practitioner.
