  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

How do I know if God is talking to me?

I had an experience while deep in prayer last night where I either heard (or imagined? I suffer from maladaptive daydreaming and sometimes have a vivid imagination due to asperger's) Jesus telling me about how to earn the favor of the Father in heaven, and that I need not worry too much about things (I was worried that due to my codependency with my muslim mother, and depression, and social phobia, I wouldnt be able to find a christian wife), and he told me around when and how I would meet my future wife. It was all very surreal is this a false experience or is this consistent with what others experience when Jesus or God talks to them?

I do believe you can get some of the mystery out of when and where you might meet a spouse, a job, or a new place to go. By faith you do not need all the pieces of the puzzle either. Just enough to be able to move in God until you see the next instructions. For a spouse, I think that if you pray further you will have some sign of recognition even. Don't expect everything to be fleshly (exactly what you want in looks).

God loves you, even though you have sinned. You do not need to DO anything to earn his love, acceptance or favour.
I do not know what you were "told" in this dream/vision, but if it was "God will only love you if you please him"; it's false.
and he told me around when and how I would meet my future wife.
Maybe. That remains to be seen.

God can speak through anything and use anything to get our attention. But if you are told anything that contradicts Scripture, it's not true.
