Yes. I haven’t worked all the way through it’s implications but for sake of the argument yes.I assume this is in reply to my last post?
Are you saying that #1 is the nature of Scripture, #2 is It's purpose and #3 is It's effects?
I have. And it is perfectly clear that the proponents of SS cant come up with a scripture verse to support it.
We have. It’s 2 Tim 3:16-17.I have. And it is perfectly clear that the proponents of SS cant come up with a scripture verse to support it.
I whole heatedly agree with this.We have. It’s 2 Tim 3:16-17.
2 Timothy 3:16–17 (ESV): All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, 17 that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.
Ok dear friend. I can understand why you will not answer my question. I will leave it between you and God. Perhaps you can pray about it. Thanks for the discussion.your fatal mistake, to say God's Word is limited to scripture. Good.luck with that.
Can you show me the scripture that says scripture is the only authority tho? Thx!1 Corinthians 4:6
And these things, brethren, I have in a figure transferred to myself and to Apollos for your sakes; that ye might learn in us not to think of men above that which is written, that no one of you be puffed up for one against another. (KJV)
Agreed. It is sufficient however which is what the OP is asking me to prove. I would go one step further in asserting it (SS) is the only infallible, God Breathed rule of faith. That doesn’t exclude the Church which is the pillar and foundation of truth. Nor does it exclude the ministry of God the Holy Spirit. So like you I can say a hearty Amen to creeds like the Athanasian creed or the definition of Chalcedon. We do however that they are God Breathed or infallible.I whole heatedly agree with this.
The only problem is that it doesn't say ONLY scripture.
it doesnt say that either. It may be your assumption though. It is sufficient however
I never said any such thing.your fatal mistake, to say God's Word is limited to scripture. Good.luck with that.
I never said any such thing.
God's Word is scripture
your fatal mistake, to say God's Word is limited to scripture.
Like I said where did I ever say that Gods' Word is limited to scripture? If I have never said any such thing why pretend that I did? I said Gods' Word is scripture.your fatal mistake, to say God's Word is limited to scripture.
It does say complete however . Would you agree to be completely equipped also makes you sufficiently equipped?it doesnt say that either. It may be your assumption though.
so the scripture Timothy knew from his youth is the Tanakh. I would agree the teachings (properly understood) of the Tanakh are sufficient to equip a man to every good work.It does say complete however . Would you agree to be completely equipped also makes you sufficiently equipped?
What we've seen are posts saying variations on "Gosh darn golly gee, Sacred Scripture is the super awesomerest evar" but not much else.

Show me the scripture that says something akin to "Sacred Scripture should be your sole authority". This thread has gone on for 20 pages and so far all we've established is that scripture is "profitable". That's lovely but we knew that already.
Show me the scripture saying scripture is the only authority.
you can certainly add that understanding to it. But it isnt consistent with the letter or the orthodox understanding.I submit that it is a form of the prophetic present
