Soilwork?

So, anybody like SOILWORK?
They're Swedish melodic death metal, similar to In Flames.

They are my ultimate, favourite band... of all time.
AND!!! Finally, they're coming to the US so I can go to one of their concerts! Of course, it's a 3 hour drive... but it's all good, and I know it'll be worth it!
Please don't respond to put-down SOILWORK or talk about bands you like better than them, because honestly I couldn't care less!

So yeah, anybody else a fan?!

My young feller's right into 'em, they sound pretty good to me too, but I'm not a big fan of that double-time drumming, w double kick pedals etc, that a lot of those bands go in for.

Dark Tranquility is by far the pinnacle of melodic death metal (and co-founders of the gothenburg scene)

soilwork is okay though. alas, i've slightl moved away from melodic death of late, turning more toward black metal, punk, and psychobilly...for now.

Too bad DT doesn't tour in america right now, and the awsome At the Gates was disbanded in its infancy. Sadly, DT is the sole survivor of gothenburg medlodic death metal. (aside from in flames, but they sold their soul to nu-metal)

Yeah, Dark Tranquility IS good... I'm just a diehard SOILWORK fan for whatever reason, and a big melodic death metal fan in general. At the Gates is very sweet as well, and it is a pity they're split up.
A lot of people are big In Flames fans when it comes to melodic metal... I've never really liked them, for some reason, even though people say they're really similar to SOILWORK. Oh well.

I wouldn't say that In Flames sold their soul completley to nu metal, but I know that they have been at times moving towards that genre to gain more popularity which is low, and disrespectful to their loyal fans like I used to be. I took a listen to their new ablum and it seems like they returned back to melo death metal and I feels it's something you should check out.

I've heard some of In Flames new stuff, but I was never really a huge fan to begin with... so, oh well.

Colony was some ace melodic death. I think DT is the only one of the gothenburg bands to still keep the original sound, which is probably why i love them so much.
