If you want to know what happened on all the CBS soaps go to cbs.com/daytime for the synopsis. They do a very good detailed job of summing up what happened on the day's episodes.

I'm starting to watch Guioding Light again. The Danny/Michelle/Marina triangle story is getting really interesting.

The first time I ever watched Guiding Light was when my older daughter was a baby and I was home all day caring for her. She is 42 now so you can see how long ago that was. It seems though that this soap was also on the radio before TV. so I may have heard it when I was a little girl.

Anyway, I lost track but do remember a character on there called 'Joanne' who played that part for decades. Then my younger daughter was a radio host in N.C. and she and two other hosts were given pop corn roles on Guiding Light about five years ago. They flew to N.Y. just to do it. So now I have a tape of that particular episode with my own daughter in it. That was her only time on it though. :sigh: Well, who woulda thought? :D

You know. I've been watching "Guiding Light" when "Search For Tomorrow" and "Secret Storm" was still on the air, and I don't remember a character named Joanee. Yup, I'm that old. I would be home with Mom and we'd watch al the afternoon soaps.

I'm sure, somewhere, somehow, there's a site on the web that has a list of characters that ever appeared on every single soap that ever was on the air.

Joanne not Joanee. She was older...so maybe not on now for years. I am 68, but except for that one episode with my daughter on it I haven't watched soaps in 40 years. Maybe Joanne was her real name...I can even picture her husband, but not his name unless it was Sig? Do you remember a 'Joanne' on Search for Tomorrow? Maybe I got them mixed up...it has been a while and that'll teach me...:sorry:   Sorry. :sigh:

Yes, I remember Joanne from "Search For Tomorrow". Sorry about the typo earlier. Sometimes my fingers move fast than my brain. ;)

Oh, and there was also "The Edge Of Night".

Boy, do I have a long memory. Don't remember anything from that one though.

I remember "As The World Turns" was in black and white and the main focal point was the Hughes' kitchen. And I think there was a character named Judge Lowell who was Nancy's father, I think?
