  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Wow. That's a hard one.

I don't think I really COULD order them. each is good in its own right.

If you like Mesmerize I'd go either with Toxicity or Steal This Album. I think I probably prefer steal this album... but Toxicity would have more familiar songs on it.

Toxicity is the best. Their biggest singles are on it plus other awesome songs like deer Dance, Forest, etc.

I can't really rank the other two. If you want something hard and fast and crazy, try the self titled release. If you want something a little more diverse musically try steal this album.

This is my ranking list
  1. Toxicity
  2. Mezmerize
  3. System of a Down
  4. Steal this album
I hated steal this album cause some of the songs were a bit non religious and mezmerize didn't quite cut the muffin like toxicity did but i can't wait for hypnotize to come out.... anyone got a date?

What do you mean by non-religious? You're aware that SOAD is comprised of 4 Christian arabs right?

Are they Christian? I wasn't sure. I know they let a lot of religious and spiritual imagery (and not just Christian) influence their music. They have a lot fo songs about a lot of things. It isn't random pointless music like a lot of bands make. Most of thier songs have some sort of meaning to them. Take the song Science. "Science fails to recognize the single most potent element of human existance. Letting the reigns go to the unfolding is faith, faith, faith, faith" and later "Spirit moves through all things, spirit moves through all things, spirit moves through all things."

System Of A Down are NOT Christian. Read the lyrics to Suite-Pee (The falling of christ, the falling of christ, the falling of christ etc). S/T is a great album, but after that they went downhill. Toxicity had its moments, but it is way too radio friendly. Steal This Album is basically all the stuff which wsn't good enough for Toxicity, so it is basically worse. I won't bother with their new stuff. They've drifted too far from metal and have become way too pop-ish. Go get yourself some Dark Funeral.
