Did they change the theme music?

In past years, it sounded like I was hearing "Shooby shooby shooby dance... dance... dance..."

But now I'm hearing, "So you think you can dance... dance... dance..." Which actually sounds kinda wierd.

Am I going crazy?

I am finally caught up with the show (four hours a week is too much!). I can't believe how close the one girl, the best friend/roommate, was to blowing it for herself. That was not the time to say you were going to give up if you didn't go through!

And I can't believe the Florida teacher got through. She looks and acts like Charo on crack.

LOL! There was another girl who got sent home because of her rambling on and on. She was quite upset when she realized that her mouth got her into trouble. I'm seeing that the judges like the dancers to be humble and just simply answer questions. Giving a speech about their excuses just doesn't fly.

I'm excited about tonight. This is my favorite part. I love seeing the dancers pair up and do partner dancing. I don't know if I'll vote tonight or at all. I didn't vote once on AI this past season, so who knows. If I get really hooked on one particular person, I'll vote!

 Hi guys. Some (most) of you know me from the AI thread. I am sooo out of my depth here. And I must admit, I have hated everything up until now because it has paled in comparison, point by point, with American Idol.

That said, I really enjoyed Wednesday, so I thought I'd give this a shot.

I can't remember all the dances, honestly, but I do remember which two were my favorites. I liked Susie and Marquis's waltz, partly because of the gorgeous song. They did have major flaws (which I, a newbie, caught!) but I liked it alot. But best by far was Katie and Joshua (PLEASE someone let me know as soon as they're on YouTube). Maybe it wasn't the most challenging or acrobatic song, but it gave me physical chills up and down my arms. They were feeling the song and living it with every motion. Absolutely stunning.

There were other okay ones as well. I have a hard time enjoying a dance if it's overtly sexy and baring, so I didn't enjoy Comfort like I wanted to or the first hip-hop routine. I thought the spy Tainted Love thing was just corny and stiff. The disco felt too Latin dance-y for me, and that last tango they raved about? I hated it.

go little miss jamaica! love the girl.CHELSEA!!!
& i thought the disco couple last was good. the teacher -awesome. i loved everybody except the first couple..

Chelsea T. is definitely a looker. :yum:

When my wife and I were watching, she said, "Wow. She's pretty cute in that dress, isn't she?" and then the just gave me that "I dare you to agree" stare. :D

But we're definitely cheering on our fellow Jamaican in the Redguard household!

I didn't agree with last night's eliminations.

I can understand that Rayven and Jamie had a weak performance, but I think that they danced for their lives better than Matt and Jessica.

I really liked Rayven's style as a contemporary ballerina. It was really cool and I was hoping to see more. And I think that Jamie is talented, as are most west-coast swingers.

I think we missed Rayven's auditions. I don't remember seeing her before last night.

I will say, though, that I had the same comment as Nigel while she was dancing for her life. I thought as a ballerina, she should have been on full pointe and I commented that I'd be more impressed with her dancing if she had been.

I don't think that was a reason to eliminate her, though. Seeing her "story" and how she was saying she was going to quit dancing until she got on the show, I think that had more to do with the judges' decision than her dancing.

I was really surprised that all the people who danced for their lives were modern dancing. That's my favorite dance form so I loved seeing it, just surprised they were grouped that way.
