Jazz has always stirred me up and made me feel agitated, so I just stay away. Jazz never resolves, it's like a never ending buzz saw grinding into my nervous system or someone juggling objects into the air and there is no way to end it and they will go into eternity still juggling those objects. Jazz is not for me.

I play piano and have never played jazz and never will.

I didn't understand jazz until one very late night in Topeka Kansas. I just finished a very long day of repairing a difficult problem on a machine. I was tired but very happy that I finally got it fixed and was driving to my hotel while listening to jazz on the radio. It sounded so good and appropriate for the moment. After that I liked jazz. It helps to listen to it after midnight.
