What sort of music shouldn't Christians listen to?

Well, most secular music might be unhelpful, but what about damaging spiritually?

There is no correct answer to that question other than your own. I can listen to bands like Marilyn Manson or NIN without it having any spiritual effect on me, but such is not the case for everyone. It's about what is comfortable for you and what you feel is ok for you, not what everyone else thinks is ok for you.
