Wow, now I understand the OP. Seems you are confused as per the doctrine of Jesus Christ in General. I agree it's not "THE SECOND COMING" per se, Jesus came back after going to Heaven to offer his Sacrifice and stayed 40 days. Jesus is in our midst when two or more are gathered together, but the Second Coming JUDGMENT being nigh is scriptural brother. And the Holy word shows us it is upon us at this very time. Below I will detail it where no one can deny it !! It is called being able to see the signs of the times. Jesus stated we would know the signs. The days of Noah, the Fig Tree parable etc. etc. says that we will know the season. My point being. There is no such thing as "a second" coming of the Lord. Only his coming of which there are numerous prophecies in the NT of different times he would come in judgement. One of them was at the end of the OT age. Another in judgement against the city of Rome. Later against the entire empire and to usher in this age of promise. But he still literally and physically comes in judgment against nations and peoples for their wrong doings and murder of the saints just like in the OT. Likewise he comes to churches just like he did in Revelation. THIS IS THE DOCTRINE OF THE COMING OF THE LORD. The "second coming," a future end of the world scenario that erroneously uses the end time prophecies of the old covenant age and then the end time prophecies about the end of the age of the four gentile empires is false prophecy. Its design is to do exactly what I pointed out.
So yes, Jesus has and will continue to come again. No he will not be coming the way the various pop culture end time prophecy teachings have him come.
Oh no. That is not what I am complaining about at all. What I am complaining about are the ill effects of erroneously applying the end time prophecies of the last two ages to this age of promise, and turning them into end of the world as we know it apocalyptic scenarios. Another one of the ill effects of this is to blind God's people to the prophecies about this age that are actually greater in number than all the end time prophecies of the last two ages combined. What I just said about Iran is in perfect accord not only with that great body of prophecy about this age. But in according to what we have seen slowly but surely growing in the earth for the last 500 years. Even with opposition to it that has costs the lives of hundreds of millions of people. Nothing, no power on earth has been able to stop it. Yes the wicked win a few battles but never the war. Yes it always looks like they are winning but never do. The influnce of the invisible Kingdom of God in the affairs of men continues to grow.Sounds like you are doing what you are complaining about.
No, not if you were tricked into thinking things are better , Sorry. The influnce of the invisible Kingdom of God in the affairs of men continues to grow.
Hi a nation or people get the leaders that come from within and the 7 mountain mandate you speak of indirectly has been shifted to a world view that is embracing doctrines of demons instead of a righteousness based on Godly fear and convictions. We can see that at this point in many places a man who would run for Senate in CA, NY, and many other places would have no chance to win because the moral climate of the public has been corrupted and they oppose the truth if Biblical wisdom and morality. This did not happen because of any eschatological divide but by the tactics of Balaam. If we look at the path America took to get to where we are politically and morally they are one and the same. They corrupted the culture and infiltrated the centers of learning and media that have influence and incrementally steered society into a culture that is as the culture in the days of Noah and Lot. The gospel is the same for you and I and only a change in the moral world view will create a population that would vote for a moral man. The understanding of a future tribulation of 7 years and then the return of Christ does not produce a lethargy in most churches who hold to it. The application I see taught is to redeem the time and share the LORD and do not be conformed to this world. There is no mind set that is lets just sit on the sidelines and wait to get taken out.Lol, That is a pretty narrow vision. God's is a tad bit bigger.
Matt. 5:5 Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.
Psalm 37:11 But the meek shall inherit the earth; and shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace.
And again, keep this within my context. Either this is going to happen because the saints are so influential that the world accepts their judgements of right and wrong, (the saints shall judge the world.) That nations order their affairs according to varying degrees Biblical principle. (Which has been happening for centuries.) Problem is the saints have to believe that this is their responsibility and with Gods guidance and help possible. It's what they'd have to believe the Bible prophesied would happen. That it is the the way where there would be a world where righteousness exists.
Or it will happen according to the various pop culture end time teachings where Jesus comes back riding a white horse and supernaturally imposes righteousness on the world. In which case our only real mandate is winning the lost so they can go to heaven.
Problem is; What if I'm right? What kind of effect are these end time doctrines having on the saints? On their personal growth in grace? Seeing how they have accepted false prophecy about their futures as gospel truth. It didn't end well for ancient Israel when they did this.
The whole of scripture spoke of an age of promise where circumstances in nations were such that believers could gain the opportunity to have the earthly promises of God made to a thousand generations of saints fulfilled in their lives. Promises that never saw their fulfillment in the lives of those generations of saints. Along with other prophecies, Daniel chapter 2 and chapter 7 told us exactly when that age would begin. When the 4th of four Gentile empires named in scripture came to an end. The Roman Empire was the 4th and did not end until what had been its capitol since 333 AD, Constantinople was conquered and the last Roman Emperor killed in 1453 AD.
Only God truly knew what tool would finally give his people the power to overcome a world completely ruled by evil through despotic human government. What would bring about the change in peoples hearts necessary to overcome evil with good. That tool was the Bible in the hands of general population. This started happening immediately after the fall of that fourth empire. The Bible in the hands of the general population was the final instrument needed for the purpose of God relating to the promise of a world where righteousness dwells. The age hoped for by all those generations of saints that they could only sow the seeds necessary to bring it about; but could not have themselves. Then, the discovery of the America's, lands without modern empires 30 years after the after the age of the four gentile empires also provided a distant and safe haven for a Bible reading people. A base of operations from which God could spread his word which yields as its fruit the free world.
That is the good news. The bad news is his purpose in the earth has been greatly hampered by his peoples acceptance of false prophecy in the guise of end time prophecy teachings. False prophecy that by its very nature is designed to stifle the personal development necessary in individuals to enable them to accomplish all of Gods purposes in their lives. Which is service capable of overcoming evil in powerful places and grows the moral and free world. But false prophecy, just as it is designed to do, has robbed the vast majority of Gods people of the scriptural vision of the future necessary to personally developed in such a way as to be even remotely capable of doing ones part in Christ to crush the evils of our generation with good. To be that mountain of influence that is higher than all the mountains in the earth. Instead the Biblically illiterate application of the end time prophecies of the Old Covenant Age and the Age of the Four Gentile Empires to this Age of Promise as some kind of an end of the world apocalyptic scenario has caused Gods people to spiritually, intellectually and physically retreat into a false hope that Jesus will come some day and set up a physical\visible kingdom. Which of course requires nothing on their part to bring to pass.
Yet the world God did envision in his Word, prophesy about and promise requires everything from his people and those who ally themselves with them to bring to pass. It is his providence at work. We can accept the truth and the sure prophetic word of scripture and work with that. Or, we can accept false prophecy in the guise of pop culture end time teachings and reap what we sow. The wicked will reign and rule over us and seize the inheritance of the saints, which is this world, for themselves. Now I'm not saying Gods plan will fail. But I am saying he will just let generations die in the wilderness until he finds some that will trust him , trust his Word and work with him to enter into that promised land.
Well I don't know. No, not if you were tricked into thinking things are better , Sorry.
Until Jesus returns things ("affairs of men") continue getting worse, exactly as written throughout Scripture.
Hebrew 9:28 So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation.
I would also challenge you, in regards to believing the reign of Christ has already begun.
Jesus came back after going to Heaven to offer his Sacrifice and stayed 40 days.
No, not if you were tricked into thinking things are better , Sorry.
Until Jesus returns things ("affairs of men") continue getting worse, exactly as written throughout Scripture.
No. Not even close.Jesus started with just 12 men. Israel was a tiny plot of land, and was the only land that had any knowledge of Jehovah whatsoever. Certainly we're doing a lot better than back then, wouldn't you say?
No. Not even close.
Especially without properly defining "we" in the "we're" .... but even then, there seems little chance of that being correct. Try though if possible...
Actually, a century ago, and still let a multitude of people suffer consequences by not telling them.
No comment.Did your mother Die in Childbirth? Not likely.
Probably. Is any nation in the west at war with another western nation?
Sorry, totally wrong / skewed data. So no....And if Death rate is your measuring stick, Antibiotics alone have saved more lives than were killed by Hitler, Stalin & Mao etc.. Combined....
Only if you believe the spin.Chemotherapy, Radiation & Surgical advances for cancer have grown exponentially and continue on that trend... mental health treatment and understanding has only grown... the raw metrics for a world that is getting better and better are definable, recordable and demonstrable.
The world is doomed.Does it ebb and flow... of course, but Christianity is in it's infancy... imagine what this world will look like after 2000 more years of victory? or 20,000?
Yesterday was better than today. Tomorrow will be worse. If it's getting progressively worse today than anytime before, you should be able to point to a time in History when the world was a better place than it is today.
