How do I keep the peace with someone who is incredibly vindictive? For every action I take where that person feels I have wronged them, they spitefully do something nasty in return, at times intending to hurt me. What do I do? Especially when I am not trying to hurt the other person but to place boundaries to protect myself??

Tried everything nice, it's someone I live with, don't know what to do anymore but to get out of here. Not sure how I'll manage that with the cost of everything being so high. Seems like this person just hates me, sad to say, and hard for me to realize after so many years.

Avoid them as much as possible as (to me) they stink of a demon influencing them to attack you and anything you do regardless will be used as an excuse to attack you regardless of good or bad. Unless you can counter their bad behavior with up to violence (stand up to them and put them in their place) and be able to afford the repercussions likely you will lose in the end especially if they are good manipulators and are able to turn everyone around you against you.
Don't try and be "nice" to them but don't be mean either just act like you have little to no interest in them whatsoever.

2Tim3:1-5. This is written about Christians and Paul says to avoid these types of people.

1But understand this: In the last days terrible times will come. 2For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, 3unloving, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, without love of good, 4traitorous, reckless, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, 5having a form of godliness but denying its power. Turn away from such as these!

I hope this helps you. :)

Thank you. I have been praying more. I have to disengage more. It's a little easier now since I realize this person really doesn't like me too much.
