You are an atheist. First things first.

Hint: It's starts with the mind.

What does that have to do with me being gay or straight? If gay people can recruit straight people, then you should have no problem recruiting me.

You have been recruited. You are an atheist for the same reason you engage in homosexuality. It is how you "think" about things. Someone "oriented" you to your perspective. Christians are just far more honest about conversion process.

I have seen many beautiful looking men (and not so good-loking men), and in my mind, wanted to be around them and thought about them often, even from when I was a child. My parents showed me that this is what freindship is all about and when they had a talk about sex and relationships, they "oriented" me to boys and girls and relationships. My parents told me about "boundairies" and proper behavior in regards to my privates and other people. Even other "boys." There is "stuff" that boys do with and to each other. Good parents teach their sons to know right from wrong and to stay away from "these kinds" of boys. I had good parents.

I have loved women ever since in the sexual connotation, and I still have many guy friends I love dearly, but no need for the sexual.

What do children really know about sexuality?

It's all about "orientation."

Literally.

Some people want to get young people pointed one way and some another. It's according to the pointers "orientation." It is also about right and wrong.

That is why there is such a thing as "The Gay Agenda."

Learning is a process. From the teacher to the initiate.

(Like athesim.)

If your mind is closed, then you have no business asking questions of others.

You know, I very nearly started a thread on recruitment myself. Caylin, you beat me to it. Recruitment is a myth and it reinforced the stereotype of the predatory homosexual.

In my thread I would have asked gays if they had been recruited, and straights if they thought they could be recruited.

I know this, when I was younger and much better looking, I had the occasional gay man hit on me. I wasn't interested. That's as far as it went. Honestly, it was no different than me making a pass at an uninterested woman.

If gays are actively recruiting, they'll need to do better than that. They couldn't get me to change my sexual orientation.

I got to thinking though that a group that is very good at recruitment is born again Christians. They have intensive and well-organized recruitment campaigns with proven techniques.

They even convince folks to try to change their sexual identity. Though I don't think, in the long run, they are quite as successful with that part.

How so?

...:sorry:

I have loved women ever since in the sexual connotation, and I still have many guy friends I love dearly, but no need for the sexual.
So you WERE attracted to men and your parents taught you not to be?

What do children really know about sexuality?
It actually depends on the child, they aren't all the same. I've known people who assure me they were attracted to members of their own sex from a very young age. I've always been attracted to girls even when I was young, some people it isn't as cut and dried for them. :)

It's all about "orientation."
well...some is anyway.

Literally.
Sometimes it is.

Some people want to get young people pointed one way and some another. It's according to the pointers "orientation." It is also about right and wrong.
...I'm sorry, but there wasn't anything on Earth that was going to "orient" me towards being attracted to men. And I suspect that would be the same for most people.

That is why there is such a thing as "The Gay Agenda."
Ahhh! One of those "Yellow Peril" "International Jewish Conspiracy" "the Illuminati" type of things?

uhmmm like math?

tulc,

20,092 posts?

I'm sure that in one of them, you have presented scripture (from the Bible, any version/translation currently in print) that promotes and supports gay sex?

I'll respond with you as much as you would like (heck it's a lot of fun, I've always liked standing up to bullies), but at the end of the day, not one Apostle "in the New Testament," lends any support for your promoting of gay sex, "as far as," I can ascertain.

I have my "mind" open for you to present any information I must have missed from my reading and re-reading of the New Testament. So far, I'm on at least my several thousanth trip around the text, and I just keep seeming to miss the gay sex promoting words written by the Apostles and/or Disciples "in" the New Tesrament. I have, as you have obviously noticed, posted many words of the writers of the New Testament witness, that look like they are very much talking in negative terms about "what we call today" gay sex.

I'm all ears and eyes.

So to speak.

It's a Christian thing.

C'mon brother?

I don't believe there is anything like "recruiting". I believe that some people already have the tendencies to switch "sides", and they are just given an opportunity that they find hard to refuse.

So are you saying that you believe homosexuals are really heterosexuals who are somehow persuaded to change their orientation? If so, how does that work, exactly?

So, I hear gay people can recruit straight people to being gay. It should work the other way them, right? So, recruit me to being straight.
I'll bake you cookies if you join us.

Probably not the most convincing argument because I'd probably end up burning them... :sorry:

Then you are not going to try to debate your gay sex promotion position?

Here's my post with a bit of polite editing:

I'll respond uour sarcasm and derailing tactics with disdain as much as you would like (heck, I've always liked standing up to bullies), but at the end of the day, not one Apostle "in the New Testament," lends any support for your promoting of gay sex, "as far as," I can ascertain.

It is up to you to decide whether you will remain sexually immoral or not.

Nah, come on. If I choose to be gay and was recruited, then you should be able to recruit me right back and make me choose to be straight!

If you ovulate, then you are a heterosexual. You are a "normal" woman. I am trying to use logic and reson to recruit you out of the lesbian life.

Is it working?

By the way, did you know Sappho was married to a man? Actually "sapphic" love, was between a man and a woman. Sappho and her husband. Interesting huh? Great poet too.

Free thinking is not as easy as you were led to believe. It takes being set free to think freely to be a free thinker.

Any progress?

Or is your "mind" made up? Your anatomy was never confused. Not even at conception. If all body parts are in their proper place, then you are heterosexual by nature.

"Recruitment," has another word that can be used in its place: "orientation."

But then again, not everyone desires to be free. Being free, seems to be exclusive of Christians.

It all comes down to choice.
