Well. if he doesn't use people to get his words out, then what are you really complaining about? You're mad that people aren't preaching the right gospel, but you haven't told us what you think the right gospel is.
I didn't say God didn't use people to get His Word out, I said -it is not my (our) words that save-. It is the "Gospel" which is "the power of God for salvation". Do you think that any "gospel" is equal to that?
I'm not "mad", I'm sad that people are preaching a
false gospel of prosperity, miracles, and general pseduo-Christian fluff without any doctrinal content (except the forementioned prosperity etc).
It is true that I haven't said what
"I think" the 'right gospel' is, lambslove, because what
I think isn't important, it is what the Word of God says that is. If you want to know what the "Gospel" is, you'll find it therein.
As far as being "upbeat", I recall that Christ was a "man of sorrows" and that His blood was shed to save sinners from the wrath of God. I see Paul was executed for his faith, and tradition says Peter was as well. Yet it seems that Christians, particularly in this day and age are more concerned with their finances than with suffering for the cause of Christ.
I'm tremendously upbeat, because I know my Redeemer lives, yet here on Earth we are to consider it "pure joy" to endure suffering and persecution. I'm upbeat, that Christ has won the victory... but I'm also sad, knowing that His church has whored herself with the world.
There's a great series on the "Blue Note" from the White Horse Inn, I highly recommend it. (
