  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

So i own a piece of Christian history and i was wondering...

So I own a piece of Christian history and I wanted to show it to the elder of my church. It is an original leaflet of a 1611 King James Bible that's almost 400 years old. Not the whole Bible mind you I wish I owned an original 1611 king james Bible I'd be a millionaire but I just own a page of one. The leaflet is a page from leviticus 1 so it's not really worth much its probably a $200-$300 piece of paper but it's special to me and I figured my Elder would really appreciate seeing it. Normally I would I invite my Elder to my home to see it but we live over an hours drive away and I don't want to make him drive that far just to show him a piece of paper even if it is a almost 400 year old piece of paper and he probably would really appreciate it.

No I'd much rather bring it to him when we go to see him on Easter I can email him in advance and let him know that I'm bringing it. Anyway, I made this topic because I need some advice. I don't really know how I can bring it to church without damaging it. I know I can leave it in the car (and lock it of course not that anyone in our church is a thief but yiu never know it might get stolen by somebody outside the church) because it's not really something we can bring inside with us unless we bring it inside, show Larry and then put it in the car and lock it for safe keeping.

That could maybe work. But we're thinking about how to get it to church in the first place without damaging it. It is an almost 400 year old piece of paper and right now I've got it hanging on the wall in a frame. But the frame is much too large to bring into the car with us it's a very large frame but it's a very large leaflet too at the same time. I honestly dont know how to get it there without damaging it because it is very old. But at the same time I really want to show it to him because I know he would really appreciate it. The king james Bible was a part of Christian history and owning a part of the original is really cool most of the Bibles were burned in fires hence why an original king james Bible is worth so much today. That's why they tore pages out of them and sold the pages that were still intact. Anyway, yeah I need ideas on how to get it to him. I'm sure he's seen one before but I still think he would find it interesting and cool.
