Non est ergo in eis [moralibus et caeremonialibus legis] spes iustificationis, sed in sola fide, Rom. 3:28
-As translated by Thomas Aquinas

"It is our will, which We hereby enjoin upon you, that ye follow the teaching of Blessed Thomas as the true and Catholic doctrine and that ye labor with all your force to profit by the same."
-Urban V, as quoted by Leo XIII in his encyclical Aeterni Patris

Any thoughts?

It's Latin. Aquinas is doing the same in his translation for which Luther was condemned, that is, Sola fide. According to the papacy, one is a heretic, and one is a doctor of the church. (As indicated by the quote from a Pope quoting another Pope.)

Dr. R.C. Sproul has expressed appreciation for Thomas Aquinas, which is good to help create an awareness among Reformed believers of these things. Like Augustine, Dr. Sproul acknowledges Aquinas to be on our "side", though humbly confesses it could be debated.

All of the giants of the faith have failings. We should rejoice not so much in the person, but in the light that they bring.
