So far in Romans

I begin a new study with my facebook fellowship page with my facebook live feeds. And lately it is the book of Romans. I remember when I tried to read the book without the holy spirit it just felt like mumbo jumbo talk. But now that I have grown a little more, and have back slid so many times that Romans has made such sense into my heart. I like in Romans chapter two with my study last night upon how Paul tells us how it is when it comes to Gods righteous Judgment.

Romans 2:7-8 NLT

7 He will give eternal life to those who keep on doing good, seeking after the glory and honor and immortality that God offers.
8 But he will pour out his anger and wrath on those who live for themselves, who refuse to obey the truth and instead live lives of wickedness.

I sometimes get stuck in the world around me when I am at times busy with a little job on the side to obtain some cash to throw towards the saving. With that said when I fall short, which we all do for we can never match the glory of God due to the sin we have had touched us during this life but only through the blood of the lamb, and accepting Jesus as our Lord and savior that we are saved.

But back to this verse I love how it is a huge reminder for us to continue to seek God and to not worry about those who refuse to obey the truth instead live wickedness. For God will handle it but that is why its a must for us to always pray for those who do not know.

Rom. 3:21 But now God has shown us a way to be made right with him without keeping the requirements of the law, as was promised in the writings of Moses and the prophets long ago. 22 We are made right with God by placing our faith in Jesus Christ. And this is true for everyone who believes, no matter who we are.

I like the next chapter even better:

Rom. 3:21 But now God has shown us a way to be made right with him without keeping the requirements of the law, as was promised in the writings of Moses and the prophets long ago. 22 We are made right with God by placing our faith in Jesus Christ. And this is true for everyone who believes, no matter who we are.

In the Pentetauch there is a word used tho descibe sins being forgiven, the word is atonement (Romans 5:11). It's used once in the New Testament and the original term is so complicated a word had to be crafted for it to be translated into English, it means, 'a one moment', that moment was when the blood was sprinkled on the mercy seat. This means little to Gentiles, but to a first century Jew it meant everything.

I think I know that moment when it happened in redemptive history. When Jesus said, 'it is finished', and the veil in the Temple was torn in two. When Solomon was dedicating the Temple he said, the whole heavens cannot contain you, how much less this house made with human hands. God got out, 50 days or so later the Spirit filled the church and has resided there ever since, and will forever.

Romans is a difficult book but the basic message is so simple, a child could understand. Jesus died for our sins so that the veil and our sins will no longer seperate us.

I REALLY like that I never seen it that way as well. So amazing I love how in this verse 7 He will give eternal life to those who keep on doing good, seeking after the glory and honor and immortality that God offers.

For me its to continue every day that he allows me to wake up is to keep seeking God.

I do a lot of debate, atonement in this regard is generally decisive. More then a point in a debate, it's a decisve moment in our history. Our whole hope of eternity is predicated on this event, when the blood was applied to the mercy seat and ultimately too our hearts (Revelation 12:11).

Love the devotional aspect of your study, that's so much better then boring theological details .
