So by your logic; Unicorns,The Tooth Fairy,Dracula and Spiderman are real?

Unicorns, at one time, yes.

The Tooth Fairy, not sure; I doubt it.

Dracula, again not sure; I seriously doubt it.

Spiderman, no.

On a Wednesday in 4004 BC, by speaking it into existence from NOWHERE.

(And I'm being serious.)

I know you are serious, I know that's where you stand, and I know there is plenty of evidence against that. And when you say that "evidence can take a hike", I don't have a single problem against your philosophy AV.

What I do have a problem with is people like Doveaman saying that "the evidence does not contradict a literal Genesis" when it very clearly does.

That's not what you said here.
Um ... I thought you were talking about such things as the CMB.

The CMB is evidence that contradicts Genesis 1, is it not?
And the point that I am trying to make is that the "documentation" contradicts all of our observations.
As It should.

Fair enough ... I shall recuse myself from this conversation.

Well no, based on my experiences with many creationists across several different forums.

The claim that these verses show inerrancy and infallibility of the Bible generally, and Genesis specifically, unravels when you consider two things:-

1) Humans wrote those words, and

Hence we have no reason to think that Genesis is the infallible and inerrant word of God. Even if God exists and guided the writing of the Bible's texts, it may well contain mistakes, and silly ideas.

God said this, so that settles it!

2 Tim. 3:16 "All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness."

17 "that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work."

Why not? What undeniable proof do you have that spiderman does not exist?

C'mon!

Someone being bit by a radioactive spider!?

I'll admit, I tell my wife that I was bit by a radioactive geek once -- and she believes me.

But a radioactive spider? not.

'Sides, I'm DC, not Marvel. ;)

are you sure it was a Wednesday - it seems the sun could have been created on a Sunday but wasn't as God did not work on a Sunday and the moon could have been created on a Monday but wasn't because it was created on the fourth day as was the sun also it seems - now it gets even more confusing because only on Christian calendars does the week start on a Sunday - have a look probably for the first time as to whether your calendar/s start the week on a Sunday or Monday - twinc

What about the books removed from the Bible in the 1600's by Marting Luther? Are they not part of "All Scripture"? What about the gospels written by other apostles that never made it into the Bible? Are the not part of "All Scripture"?

LOL, again, why should the evidence contradict Genesis?
Take my snowman example.

Evidence -- (that didn't exist, mind you, since none was generated) -- would suggest that the snowman has been there awhile, melting in the heat; while in point of fact, the snowman came on the scene that way.

You guys see dust in space and assume it accreted into a sun, moon, and planets; billions of years ago.

If you had written a book saying "I created a half melted snowman", the evidence wouldn't have to contradict you. Likewise, if God had said that plants were created after animals, the evidence wouldn't have to contradict him.

You guys see dust in space and assume it accreted into a sun, moon, and planets; billions of years ago.

No, we don't assume. We look at what goes on in the universe around us and conclude that is how it formed, based on observations.

Well, for simplicity's sake ... let's just say "the fourth day." :)

No.

If I gave you a one-dollar bill, two-dollar bill, three-dollar bill, etc., and told you to separate these bills into two piles: LEGAL TENDER and NON-LEGAL TENDER, could you do it?
