So as Christians can we talk to the Holy Spirit in our heads?

A couple of people have told me direct communication (verbally) from Jesus is pretty rare and is called locution but what about talking to the Holy Spirit or the father?

Of course we can pray (I think!) to all three (which is us talking) but will we ever have frequent verbal dialogue in our heads from father son or Holy Spirit?

Thankyou in advance for any help.

You may want to be cautious about receiving communication from God. We have his word in the bible.

Many people have followed this path with good intentions only to be deceived by demonic communication and beset with the problems that brings.

Others can deceive themselves by "hearing" what they want to hear and get drawn away from God.

I've always considered prayer as talking to the Father. The Father, Son and Holy Spirit are One. Blessings

Be careful where you get your advice! You can usually trust one who is "born again" as John 3; John 17; Romans 8; etc. Do you go to a sound Bible-only Church assembly? Do you know the Lord Jesus as John 3:16?
The 'direct communication' you stated seems false. One who is truly "born again" by a spiritual relationship --receiving the Lord Jesus into your heart, can walk and talk with Him daily; even until that day when He calls that one to Himself up in Heaven. Come to our Lord Jesus now before it's too late for you, as we never know when we will die. Pray and stay close to the Lord Jesus all the time, and you will always be at peace; for He NEVER fails those who live with Him in their life.

Do you see any such thing in Scripture? Is there any teaching in the Bible that such dialogue as you describe is common to Christian living? No. God "speaks" to us through His word which the Holy Spirit brings to remembrance as we study and memorize it. (2 Timothy 3:16-17; John 14:26) You can certainly speak to God all throughout the day - but not with idle chatter. Remember to whom you are speaking. (Ecclesiastes 5:2)
