How does everyone feel about the leader of BLM, Mrs Marxism herself, Cullors stepping down?

I'm just curious about what everyone thinks of that? Do you feel scammed for supporting it? Did you give money? Did you march? Did you realize it wasn't real long ago?

A lot of the people who supported BLM are super mad...understandably. 80 million dollars is a lot of power and opportunity to do good things for the community she advocates for. Obviously they're upset to see her step back after not doing a single thing other than complain and use dead black people to sell her brand.

The T-shirts should have been a giveaway, right? Real causes don't need t-shirt money. Real causes have people on the other side of the issue. I've never met anyone in favor of police brutality...even police. It's a complex issue...but being against police brutality is something we all basically agree on. You don't have to pay anyone to say that lol. What else are you against? Poverty? Lack of medical care? Me too....what a coincidence. If only one of us had enough money and the opportunity to use it...

80 million dollars you say? That's great....we may not be able to solve the issue but it's a lot of people who we can help. Oh what? You got a Netflix deal to work on? Ok...

Even the parents of dead family are mad at this....and they shouldn't be. They knew she was selling moral validation. They knew "defund the police" isn't a real solution. She said she was a trained Marxist people....

If you hear someone who says they're a trained Marxist.....and they want you to do something for them, just say no. That's someone incapable of spotting or solving problems. If they were capable of doing these things, they wouldn't need to learn Marxism to figure out how to get you to do it for them.

Honestly, I remember supporters on here who were kind of half doubting it when Defund the Police became the slogan. It didn't make any sense. She's lucky she's not under federal investigation considering the billions in damages her movement caused but hey....I guess she funded the correct Democratic candidates.

How do you feel about it? Truthfully.

Personally, I hope it won't be used as a basis for a bunch of misleading posts implying bad things about the group itself.

Why? What does the group do? You know...besides marching around and making ridiculous suggestions that they don't really mean like "defund the police".

If you lend your money or support....it won't ever go towards anything other than more complaining. Buy a t-shirt if you want but let's stop pretending this is activism. It's the appearance of moral validation sold as activism.

Not everyone is happy with BLM and their violence.

Southern District Leadership on BLM

I wonder how long it will be before the law suits begin.

Seems to be happening in France also

French police clash with anti-racism activists in Paris

Who knew the French culture was so racist in nature?

France has a long history of being quite racist, only made relatively better by how much worse both the US and UK are. The issues with the police though have very little to do with racism per se, as very recently the police have been violent towards groups as diverse as the poor, healthcare workers, firefighters and immigrants. Its more of a 'bad police' in general thing of late.

"I recently learned that the company’s executive committee expressed support for BLM. I was shocked. Not only does BGA have no business getting engaged in partisan politics, but the BLM attacks on the Jewish institutions were not random. The three founders and leadership of BLM are anti-Semitic and support the ethnocidal BDS movement against Israel.

Unsurprisingly, the BLM leaders also describe themselves as “trained Marxists,” followers of the ideology whose founders, including Karl Marx himself, were not only anti-Semites but anti-black racists whose disciples have been history’s greatest mass murderers. Always employing the virtuous grandiloquence of “justice” and “rights,” Marxist ideas may be comforting to and mislead those who have not been exposed to them in their crystalline form."

Don't let me interrupt your 'post anything bad you can find about a group of people you find scary' fun though.

Why does it seem when there is a lack of facts for an appropriate response it always comes down to 'scary'? Do you think the black citizens speaking out against BLM in the video's look scared? Now I am quite sure the hundreds of minority business owners whose life's work was destroyed by BLM were probably scared. The Black woman whose husband had his head bashed in by BLM for trying to protect his business was probably scared.

Would you prefer we just ignore the millions of dollars in damage they caused?

You manage to ignore the endless list of unarmed black people being murdered by the police quite effectively, so why would this prove a challenge for you?

It’s not a long list. In fact, it’s much shorter than a) the list of whites killed by officers; b.) the list of blacks killed by blacks; and c.) the list of aborted black babies.

Honestly, I hope that someone else can sort of take the reigns and make it a more productive organization.

Some of the issues the say they want to address are valid issues, and ones for which there is substantial public support.

However, early on, they allowed unrelated ideologies to bleed into their message, and draw division.

When their chapters are putting up mission statements like these, it's not surprising that they're a divisive group...
upload_2021-6-7_19-23-13.png

You can't put "abolition of capitalism" down as one of your mission statements, and then act as if everyone who opposes your group is doing so simply because they are bigots that don't think that "Black lives matter". You can name your group "stop punching sweet little old ladies", if one of your mission statements is "abolition of capitalism", you won't get my support.

BLM has needed a PR overhaul for a while.

It'd be sort of like if there was a situation like this...
Activist: "Hey, I just started a group called Clean Rivers Now (#CRN), you interested in supporting us?"

Reasonable person: "I'd be willing to consider it, what's your mission?"

Activist: "We want to stop all companies from dumping waste in the rivers, impose heavy fines on polluters, sponsor politicians who will fight for strong ecological policies, and we also want to lower the age of sexual consent to 11 years old, are you with us?"

Reasonable person: "absolutely not, I don't want anything to do with your group"

Activist: "oh, hey, come look everyone! come look at this bigoted climate change denier who doesn't care about clean water!!!!"

I've used this example before, but most people agree on preventing animal abuse, but there's a good reason why most people have a positive perception of the ASPCA, but a negative perception of PETA (despite their acronyms implying a similar purpose, semantically).

BLM = PETA... that particular semantically stated mission statement desperately needs its "ASPCA" equivalent... An organization that still upholds the values of police reform, ending qualified immunity, acknowledgement of the impacts of multi-generational racism, but without being saddled with all of the anti-capitalism and postmodernist feminism nonsense.

a) and b) are off-topic and c) is nonexistent.
