  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

First up is Lord Voldemort. When I initially encountered him. I didn’t like him. I’d read to the Goblet of Fire and stopped. But when I revisited the series after reading Tolkien and other Rowling influences. He was more enjoyable. Make no mistake, he’s crazy. But he’s creatively crazy and that’s a difference.

The runner up is Jane Eyre. I love the book. But I didn’t like her too much. She was too subservient for my tastes. After I read The Professor, Villette, Shirley, and her biography I had a change of heart. She was longing for love and captured the ache in her characters. When she found it she stopped writing. I empathize with her. And I see Jane in a new light.

I used to have snap judgments about foods. Now I've discovered many of those foods are in fact very tasty.

I still make snap judgments about people, but I'm aware of it and trying to get that out of my life
