  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Anybody else have a little furball at your house? That would include rabbits, hamsters, gerbils, ferrets, rats, mice, guinea pigs, sugar gliders, chinchillas, and others like these. If you do, post a pic or say something about it...:)

Here is Sunny, a mongolian gerbil (color is pied yellow fox)

Only 1 hamster left now. I had 5 at one point but they unfortunately don't live terribly long. My last dwarf hamster died yesterday so I'm left with 1 Syrian now who's older than dirt. She's about 3 1/2 years old now and outlived all of the others. I also have 1 guinea pig and 2 degu's which look kind of like large gerbils and make a TON of noise.

We have 1 Dwarf Russian Hamster and he is the sweetest, cutest little guy! Jerico is his name and curiosity is his game :) He makes little clicking sounds and talks to us all the time. His cheeks are always stuffed full of seeds and makes him look like a chipmunk. He is very docile and let's us hold him and play with him.

A friend of mine has a hamster about to give birth and I'm going to get one of the babies. It's a caramel colored Syrian. We had one about a year ago that died at almost age 4! It was also a very sweet little guy.

Gotta love our little furballs :)

Ferrets are cool, my brother has 3 of them. they like being thrown on the couch and make their happy chirping noises and retaliate an attack by biting your socks. they also enjoy to storing food inside the couch or under the stove.

I love animals - and have many.... but I don't let any of them live in the house. They are happier outside - and my house is cleaner and smells better for it.
The dogs however get to come in during the winter months at night when the weather is cold - we let them sleep in the laundry room. Otherwise they are all OUT. We have lots of wooded acres, a big barn, fields, etc... they prefer to be out.
And absolutly no cats in the house ever. I do love cats - but not in my house.

We have one of those too. :) He's the father of the last litter we had... and one of the babies looked just like him. They're all gone now though. :(
