Slipping

Hi everyone,
I have been in treatment for my binge eating disorder for two months and was told I would be discharged next week. It is outpatient at night. I only went one night this week, and I have been eating cookies like crazy the past few days.

I feel like such a failure, and I am so afraid that I will go completely out of control.

for any ED recovery:

* we have to except that there will be tough days of temptation and have a list of coping skills and ideas ready. (writing it down and keeping it handy allows us to be reminded of what to do during the crazy compulsions and overwelming feelings).

* when we slip up... as with any slip up. confess verbally to Jesus.
FORGIVE yourself, get back on track through the things you require... and be proud of yourself for the growth and accomplishments you did succeed at, even if it's one meal at a time . it's all good... practice, practice, practice.


Trish i have seen some lovely posts by you. how would you talk to one of your friends if it was them? apply your own advice to yourself. talk to yourself the way you would to others. you can do it. you can overcome it.

Ohh..hang in there

I know that you can make it through without losing control if you put your mind to it. Everyone slips, so don't let yourself feel like a failure. Have you expressed your concerns to your outpatient doctor? I will definately be praying for you...please, if you need anything dont hesitate to PM.
