ska music is the first music i really got into. when i was younger dad was reading a word catolgue and saw an interesting write up for the insyderz skallaleuia album. we went and had a listen and it was instant love.

have all bar one of their albums and singles now. and also have a few supertones and five iron frenzy albums.

I've definitely been into ska, I miss it at times. and this being the last year of the Supertones, it's like saying the final goodbye until ska comes back around in a decade or two I'm sure.

Favorite ska bands were:
B.O.B.
BUCK
Supertones

and some good old the W's on the side

whoa, dude, the w's were definitely not ska. and actually, the supertones started off ska but towards the end they weren't really ska at all.

so what are they now then?

I'm not really into ska, but I listen to the supertones once in a while.

the supertones are the greatest christian SKA band ever! their lyrics.. wow! it's just wow! the insyderz are way cool also... the W's are more swing than ska, but i still like them.. five iron frezny.. well, they have some good songs, the lyrics are good but.. :/ non christian ska bands - reel big fish - that's some great ska-rock, catch 22, less than jake... yeah..

The W's are swing:sick: and the Supertones...I don't really know, but it was not ska.
I agree with Fridge, The Insiderz are prbably the coolest ska band:cool:. I do like Buck and Buck Enterprises though.:D
As far as ska overall its just ok. Not too much, not to little. Of course, when I listen to music I usually do not seek out ska but sometimes I will pop in Skallaleuia! every once in a while

Not true. Their Loud & Clear cd was probably the fartherest from ska that they went, but then they came back around again which is very noticable in their Hi Fi Revival and especially Revenge of the OC Supertones cds. Even at that, they never complete left it ever.

Another hugely ironic thing, the Insyderz, who are getting good props around here, yeah..they weren't full ska ...they were ska but they also had a hard sound than ska is assoicated with. I never loved the Insyderz but their Skalleluah! cd was a good twist on the average p&w of that day.

Yes the W's were swing, but that was the beauty of it all ...a little side flavor.

Does anyone else remember the "Holy Roller Tour" ?

listen to "adventures of the supertones" and tell me that they're not ska! the truth is that for example "loud and clear" is more of a ska-rock album, but it still has the ska beat, that makes it ska! so... regarding skalleluia - agreed.. :)
Oh, yeah. Adventures and Revenge are their ska albums

Cool, some people who like ska :-D.

I like Catch 22's first album (Keasbey Nights) and Streetlight Manifesto. Reel Big Fish is pretty good too for non-Christian ska bands. There are some more that I like as well... I haven't listened to much Christian ska.
