There is a story I read some time ago about Sir Walter Scott that just sort of stuck with me.
It seems as Sir Walter was on his deathbed he asked Lockhart to read to him. Then as lockhart scanned the shelf of books that Scott had written, he asked, "What book shall I read? Scott replied with a question of his own: "Why do you ask that?" Then he informed Lockhart, "There is but one book; Bring the Bible."
Interesting how the Bible is the only Book for a man on his deathbed. Yes, it is truly the only Book for a dying man. But it is also the only Book that brings Life to any man. Without the Truth of the Bible, all we have is a living death.
Want to really live? You find the Way, the Truth, the Light, and the Life in the pages of the Bible!
