I dreamed that my brother called and asked for a little bit of money from my Dad. He had just received some the very day before. I told my Mom, I knew he would do that. Then we walked into our backyard. It had turned completely into mud. My Dad was there and he spoke to Mom and he said, "this is where our son has been." Everywhere my Dad stepped, he sank into the mud up to his neck. The he went to this particular spot and he told my Mom, "he has been here too." That time, he sank all the way under. I reached in and pulled my Dad back out of the mud. Except it wasn't my Dad. It was a baby. Like one you would see on a ultrasound. I don't even know if it was male or female. I picked it up out of the mud and started rocking it. Then I woke up.
I feel like there is something to this dream. But I can't figure out what. Especially since I tried to rescue my Dad out of the sinking mud. If anyone can help, I would be thankful.
God bless you all.

Do you know where you were reading in scripture the day you had this dream? That is where I would begin prayerfully before the Lord, seeking his face for understanding. I would also look at what circumstances are going on with your real family to see if there is a possible life application there, or I would ask the Lord if this is to be applied to the church or to a nation. If this is from the Lord, then he has a message he wants you to receive from this either for you to pray or for you to share the message or for some change he wants to work in your own life or all of the above.

It sounds complete.. like your brother borrows money and you believe it's a problem and you want to keep your father from being taken advantage of.. kinda save him. and out of it you are able to minister or your family is able to help others that are in the same situation...

On a practical level your dream could be about personal finances, perhaps your brother's debt dragging your father/family deeper into the mire, getting stuck in the mud of a financial rut that is impossible to get out of.

But doesn't that also sound like our western economies? So it could have a wider application as well.

They are stuck in the mud and we are all sinking and drowning in debt, so the mud could be symbolic of debt. However, it might also symbolise sin as well as our societies and churches are all up to their necks in that also.

Your dream reminded me of this verse from Psalm 40

2 He lifted me out of the slimy pit,
out of the mud and mire;
he set my feet on a rock
and gave me a firm place to stand.

Perhaps God is promising that if we return to Him and turn away from/repent of our sins/debts that, He will uphold us from the coming trials.

Jesus is The Rock on whom our foundations should be built on, not materialism or other false gods as spoken of in verse 4.

The rest of Psalm 40 is well worth reading to put things into context, as it speaks to me on multiple levels of what is happening all around us in the world today, and how we should be seeking God earnestly to come and deliver us.

Psalm 40 - Passage[wash my mouth]Lookup - New International Version - BibleGateway.com

God has already delivered us through Jesus, who is perhaps symbolised by the baby you pulled out of the mud in your dream. Hold onto Him when troubles come.

Your father in the dream may be symbolic of your real father/family if it has a literal meaning, your fatherland/country/church drowning in debt/sin, or even God the Father who sent His Son to pay for all the mud/debt/sin and who 'drowned' in it for us, descended into hell/the slimy pit but rose again victoriously.

I dreamed that my brother called and asked for a little bit of money from my Dad.

Three or more connected entities observing interaction between each other... on family terms of trust, not afraid to ask a favor.

He had just received some the very day before.

No fair! Did you react that way? Like that entity had already used up their chance, and you hadn't, and the request was imbalanced?

I told my Mom, I knew he would do that.
Scowl.
You brought in another party, that you felt would understand the justice of the situation. The party had more leadership authority than you did.

Then we walked into our backyard.

From the area where you shared this trust and exchange, out to a slightly more public area (where you still had control over who gets involved).

It had turned completely into mud.
I see this as two things:

Sudden loss of stability, standing on liquid and movable soil. Uncertainty.

But also mud is stifling and holds the foot down, drags the person's stride down to almost nothing. Going nowhere while expending loads of effort. No guarantee of getting out.

My Dad was there and he spoke to Mom and he said, "this is where our son has been."
Was that blame, do you think? Or just showing evidence. It reminds me of the dollar dropping, and causing other currencies to drop. Or a relationship that people continually scrutinized, and every bit of bad luck was blamed on that one first choice.

Everywhere my Dad stepped, he sank into the mud up to his neck. The he went to this particular spot and he told my Mom, "he has been here too." That time, he sank all the way under. I reached in and pulled my Dad back out of the mud. Except it wasn't my Dad. It was a baby.

Dreams are rarely logical, unless you just see these changes as transitions of the symbols. The entity that was the leader, had been reduced to a helpless, humbled state. Or had a fresh start.

The mud covered him, but he rose out of the mud. Conspiracy theorists speak of plans to disable the US and bring it back in a different form, using tragedies to knock feet out from under them. Compare this scenario to other things that come to mind.

Like one you would see on a ultrasound. I don't even know if it was male or female. I picked it up out of the mud and started rocking it.

Good daughter. :D

I don't see anything clearly out of this, but I will point out there is a gender distinction here. Have you looked at that, to see what it might mean to you, and / or within your family? It is quite likely the 2 males represent the same thing or person, but we don't know any specifics about your Brother or his relationship to the rest of the family.

It's important to consider if this was from G-d or not, and you haven't really said anything about that. If it were from Him, it would be significant that you couldn't tell the gender of the baby, rather than it being something you missed. W/o the baby it's 2 of each, male and female. Maybe it's saying to put all that behind you and concentrate on something new? This would depend greatly on context. Is your brother actually prone to borrow money, or become a Dad?

You will be an aunt! Congratulations.

Mud is a great description for what he might be feeling over the next couple of years. -Prayers!- If he is borrowing money now, he will need a better source of income to handle all the new expenses, or else more sensibility in spending.

It could be that God is showing you more things about the situation than what you already know. It is tempting to just judge a brother who asks for money, especially if he seems to not be trying hard enough to make his own (a possibility).

Your handling the baby shows mercy, or at least practical acceptance of the situation's needs. In defending your dad's position, you ended up helping the baby. It can also show that you feel you would know how to handle the situation better than your brother.

Picture a scenario where a new father might be tempted to break up with the mother, out of fear of being a parent. Or where the new father panicked and got laid off, and the grandparents had to remedy the situation. You can be a real help, in taking your selfless position of just wanting things taken care of properly.
