I am involved in the leadership of a singles ministry group in our church called SALT (Single Adults Living Triumphantly). Before moving to the UAE I have never heard of such a thing.
We have regular weekly meetings. Each month we alternate between program meetings and activities. Programs can include; Discussion groups, speekers, presentation, etc. Activities include; bowling, ice skating, games night, other fun events. We have about 9 different nationalities attending our group. This makes it very interesting in planning events, not only because of culture differneces but also drastically different finances. (Certian nationalities are paied much less just because of that fact!!)
I would like to hear about other groups, what you are doing.

I would like to hear about other groups, what you are doing.

Not much different from what you are doing. Bible studies, dinner and devotions, worship and prayer evenings, social activities, team sports activities (such as volleyball, softball, soccer). In short, activities that help us build community with fellow believers so that that when hard times hit (they WILL hit), we can be there for one another, encourage one another, sharpen one another. It's not that we do this to have a group activity that we do weekly; it is our prayer that it becomes a lifestyle as much as possible, so that if we remove the 'structure' from the group, people still seek to pray together, hang out together, worship together, strengthen each other. It's good stuff mate. Cheers!
