  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I love researching things like this.

I guess pollen has protein in it?

An allergy is when the body reacts to a protein as if it's a poison. There are a number of other food problems that are intolerances (where the body can't digest a certain sort of particle well.) It's actually impossible to be allergic to lactose or gluten because those are a sugar and a sticky-starch respectively. I hear a lot of people say "gluten allergy" but it's a "gluten intolerance."

Well, and almost all foods have proteins in them. Some have a wider variety of proteins and thus it's harder to get allergic to one of them.

For example, a person with really bad allergies is more likely to have trouble with grain-fed beef than grass-fed, because a mouthful of grass can be a mix of 15 different weeds and a mouthful of corn is a mouthful of corn.
