If they want to. We got matched because I was really into her and we had great chemistry and became close friends. We were like partners in crime and inseparable. But it was always platonic for her so it never went beyond people saying we should get together jokingly haha. Sometimes the matches are random, but sometimes they have real merit at times

LOL nah. She had no interest, so I've moved on. But we remain really close friends to this day.

Look at the bright side though....... the woman the Lord does have for you might make sammiches with meat....... instead of carrots and tofu......

Yes, mostly giggles. I don't think anyone has truly been matched and gotten together. There have been a few people that met and married.... but I don't think their "match" in this thread ever brought them together.

I've always seen this thread as light fun with the potential to match two people that actually like each other, thus breaking the ice for them in a way. Mutual liking though is rare from my memory in here. Though we did have a rash of marriages a long while back iirc.

99.9% of the people who view this thread as even remotely serious end up getting hurt. It's best to keep it non-serious, but even then it can be hurtful due to people getting insecure about never being given a match.

It's pretty obvious that most people here want to find someone to date and are really quick to get excited about things like being matched up with someone. Instead of playing around with people's emotions, just tell someone you like them if that's the case. Don't use threads like this to feel out whether or not someone likes you back. It's just not a mature or healthy way to go about things.

Sorry for the rant. It just seems like more hurt comes out of threads like this than actual fun. Are the damaged emotions worth the little bit of entertainment?

Honestly, I think it depends on the person. Some might find it fun, others might not; there is a mix of interest in it, but hopefully they would have enough common sense to know this isn't serious. I take this kind of thing with a grain of salt. While, yes, I think the love stories on here are adorable, I don't hold onto hope of finding it on the forum. My purpose is to grow in my faith and have fellowship with others. If I happen to meet someone, then great; if not, then great. My focus is on the Lord; not the concerns of entering a relationship. I know several enjoy this thread, and I don't think anything is intended for ill.

It's actually quite scary that you felt the need to write a post like this in an adult environment.

That's not a knock on you, more a worrying appraisal of what this place can be like.

I don't take child-like behaviours with a pinch of salt. An underlying mental health issue is as good as a certainty for anyone who's legit upset or elated over the outcome of this thread.
