  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I use to have a pet rabbit.
My uncle talked about making him into stew.
Since my dad's family grew up on the farm I imagine they ate things like rabbits and possums.

In The Republican SafeHouse we always tease InspiredHome about Barbecuing her ferrets.

There are post size limits, you know. :p

I'd go mess with ferrets elsewhere, but I don't think I'm a registered Republican anymore...oh well, I'll register republican in a few months again, I'm sure! :D

Not wanting to brag but the aveage house in the town that I live in goes for about $350K.

This is really ticking me off right now. We bought our house for $5000 under what the people wanted and they paid all the closing costs. Later the tax collecters office actually came out to our house and asked if we had got a deal on the side which was not offered to everybody else, if the house was actually on the market, or if they were relatives because they didnt want the tax base to go down because they had to use the selling price and not an appraisel value. So, over the next 3 years they have more than made up for it. They have raised the appraisel value by 42%. If I could get what they are taxing me on I would sell it tommarrow. Last year they came to the house and started talking to my wife in order to raise taxes again. I told my wife to stop talking to him and told him to get off my property or I was going to calling the police  . Unfortunately, he left voluntarily  .

Is it possible to appeal the assessor's office value?

In the meantime, I'll rent a large closet (I mean apartment) and live in it, and drive a 15-year-old sedan on its last legs.

Only if you can show are large difference compared to other homes like yours. And of course they have them all priced about the same.

I looked at the appraised value of other homes that equal mine on the internet and they have them all about the same.
