Single Truth
Now I urge you, brethren, note those who come division and offenses, contrary to the doctrine which you learned, and avoid them.
ROMANS 16:17 (NKJV)
Lord, help us discern which teachings are of You and which are not. I want to listen only to Your Word.
Paul admonishes us in 1st Timothy 6:3-6, "If any man teach otherwise and consent not to wholesome words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ and to the doctrine which is according to GODLINESS; he is proud, KNOWING NOTHING [1st Corinthians 8:2, "And if any man think that he knoweth any thing, he knoweth nothing yet as he ought to know."], but doting about questions and strifes of words, whereof cometh envy, strife, railings, evil surmisings, perverse disputings of men of CORRUPT MINDS [Titus 1:10-11, "For there are many unruly and VAIN TALKERS and deceivers, SPECIALLY THEY OF THE CIRCUMCISION: WHOSE MOUTHS MUST BE STOPPED, who subvert whole houses, teaching
things which they ought not, FOR FILTHY LUCRE'S SAKE."]and destitute of the TRUTH, supposing that GAIN is GODLINESS: FROM SUCH WITHDRAW THYSELF. But godliness with contentment is great gain." Paul said
in Phillipians 4:11, "Not that I speak in respect of want: FOR I HAVE LEARNED IN WHATSOEVER STATE I AM THEREWITH TO BE CONTENT."
The truth which is God's word cannot be compromised. In the beginning of Proverbs 23:23 it tells us to buy the truth and sell it not. It is only the truth that will make us and set us free. David said in the later part of Psalms 91:4 that God's truth shall be our shield and buckler. The definition of truth means fact, real and right. Everyone of us are to speak the truth. (Zechariah 8:16)
In my closing let us remember this: "For the WRATH of GOD is REVEALED from heaven AGAINST ALL UNGODLINESS AND UNRIGHTEOUSNESS OF MEN, WHO HOLD THE TRUTH IN UNRIGHTEOUSNESS..." (Romans 1:18)
