Single Parents Support

I'm a single mom of four littles ranging from 10-2.. And I find that it is so difficult sometimes..I just want to give up..But then you look at them and think God that they are mine....Just sometimes you need to know that your not the only one out there that is struggling as a single parent. Its hard for me to ask my mom or sister there married and they can't exaclty identify with what I'm going through...So I thought hey start this so if there is any single parents out there we can uplift each other on here..... I was just browsing through here to see if anyone else had started a thread like before I did -- guess you beat me to it.

I guess I'll tell you and any one joining us later a little about me. My name is Tracy, I'm 29, live in Indiana (US), and am the single mother of Bailey Alexis (3) and Savannah Grace (almost 18-months). I have never been married, but their daddy and I continue to have a good relationship as friends and work well together as parents -- most of the time! Still, I have custody of the girls, and Daddy tends to like to be the "fun" parent who gets to do all the things that I can't either because of time, financial, or physical restraints. It is hard, not having the other parent there to more fairly share the responsibilities involved in raising children. But...I love my girls and wouldn't trade them for anything.

I really know what you mean about the fun parent part..... Mine go to dad's and talk about how they go here there and everywhere and why can't we do the same... It just fustrates me that I can't and have to tell them that... He lets them get away with everything and it's just hard for me cause they want to be the same here...I know he is not really like that cause when we were married he was the tough one..He just does it so they can want to be with him... I just know that eventually and pray that I can get to the point that I can do these things for my kids...I'll keep you in my prayers....!

The girls' Daddy is strict on them, but he spoils them and takes them everywhere, too. It probably evens out, but since they get so much in a short amount of time with him, it seems like more. Mine are still young, too, so it will probably get worse (hopefully not) -- but it's funny: they already do the "I want Daddy" thing when they're mad at me, and the "I want Mommy" thing to him when they're mad at me. Kids!

I have to say they don't do the want daddy thing... Cause there is just too much that he has done to them and me that they have seen..So he tries to buy them wanting to go..What I get is well daddy got me one..or why can't you daddy does.... I get I want grandma..lol... It dosent work now them wanting daddy but when they get older is what I'm afraid of them wanting to be with him cause he can buy them anything...... They don't like it there or at least spending the night..My little girl 5 calls me crying at night cause she dosent want to stay there breaks my heart....but I agree with you KIDS!!!...lol

We pray for Daddy every night, that he will get to know God better. He has been born again, but he's been living back out in the flesh for many, many years now. I haven't seen any improvement in the situation at this point, but I CAN see when we've forgotten to pray for him for a day or two!

Last night was a tough night. I had a bunch of dental work done during the afternoon, and I was really starting to hurt, in addition to being tired. I just kept snapping at the girls because they wouldn't quiet down and get to sleep. I hate that.

Just know your not alone we are all have been there.. I know I have..It's hard when were doing it by ourselves and there is no one to take over when we are feeling bad...Were suppose to be super parent and keep going just sometimes its hard to keep going with a smile... I hate snapping at them too and either the next day or so I apoligize to them and they understand...

I pray for there dad too..Espcially for the women he brings in his life...He has already in about a five month span brought three women in to my childrens life..And it confuses them. He introduces them to the women's whole family and then they don't understand why they don't see them again.... I remind them to pray for him but they find it hard but I continue to help the kiddos in that area....I will continue to keep you and your children in my prayers cause I know its not easy.....
