Shouldn't we make that "wouldn't donate to any charity that has known ties to organized crime or illegal activity?"Lorena said:My point is you still wouldn't donate to any charity that has ties to organized crime or illegal activity.
I mean, I DON'T know when I donate to someone who is doing a walkathon that the money is going to the charity - and while I trust that the charity is sound and legal...
A lady in Chicago collected several thousand dollars in checks - largely from firefighters and police, I heard - to support her on a walkathon for ADA, the American Diabetes Association.
She had them make out the checks to ADA.
Her name was ADAMS.
She was altering and cashing the checks, and using the money to procure drugs.
Is that the responsibility of the people who thought they were donating to a legal charity?
