My dad is getting ready to retire from his job early next year - he's 65. He's been at the company 40+ years. For most of those years, he's hated his job, but would not look for another one. One of the times he had to honor a strike on the premises and couldn't work, he was offered a couple of different jobs that paid more, but he wouldn't take it. The only thing I can think of is that he thinks that's all he knows how to do, but I know he could do more if he tried.
At least the last 5 years or so, he had a very nice boss. That goes a long way towards any job satisfaction you might have.
Thanks for the thought, but I'm not school material anymore. I did look into college and was actually enrolled 19 years ago, but I coudn't do it anymore. I am quite hard of hearing and back 40 some years ago it was a struggle even then. Big rooms are not juts a challange they are impossible. Besides that I'm too dumb.
