  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Ahh...that's good question...now if only I knew the answer...
I don't believe that it comes via osmosis, usually one learns what sin is or is not by reading the scriptures (in the Christian's case, the Bible). There is also personal teaching and learning by testimony. To put it bluntly, God doesn't hide and He makes known what we ought to do. Otherwise the first rule of "repent" would be pretty meaningless if we didn't know what to repent from.
If you don't have a desire to be obedient to God (full obedience), then this really is nothing to concern yourself about. The wisdom is only valuable to those that value it. Knowing what is or is not sin and not doing would only convict you and spiral you into dispair.

Wow...that was a wordy way of saying "I don't know"
Correct, you have already told us that "I have no concept of sin or original sin.". There is no reason to repeat this, I understand.

Basically, the only way I can find to determine if something is a sin is reason, using the goal found in most religions (except Satanism, Vodoun, and Shinto): cause the least amount of suffering to you and to others, both for now and the future.

Take into account the context of something, and the conditions it was written in.

It is harder, but becaues it requires us to go against the conditioning this modern world tries to program into us. This requires thinking, the world wants us to just go.

For yourself and myself. However, I do not try to force my belief in God on others. I've had people try to force thier belief in the same God on me (for playing D&D, or something stupid like that...) and I really didn't like it. Should anyone come to me and ask about being a Christian, I will tell them about my experiances.

I had a friend whose friend was Agnostic (neither are me, don't assume so). The Agnostic friend did not convert to Christianity because people kept shoving it down her throat, but because my friend didn't. Mostly, both of them didn't talk about religion, but then the Agnostic asked about Christianity and what it meant to my friend.

There are people that would be pushed away if I chased them with my beliefs. However, if asked, I answer.

*shakes head* I'm sorry if I was unclear. I asked because non-malevolence itself does not hold these points to my knowledge. Perhaps to individuals it might, but generally do no harm to others does not indicate the things I mentioned. This is why I tend to stick with the biblical phrasing in Mark 12 of the Law of Love (agape), as it gives a strong implication of what is intended.
