  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Like Brother Charlie said, intentions count a lot. There is brief nudity on television--unless you turn the TV off, you can't seem to avoid it (as well those millions or watchers of the SuperBowl can attest.) There is nudity when taking a bath or shower. Babies (and sometimes young children) are often appearing "au natural". Modern artist's models sometimes need nude models (teaches how muscles appear, light and shadow, and then how clothing would fall). Then there are the Old Masters. There's nothing wrong with nudity on a physical exam--in fact it's sometimes necessary. What's wrong is the intention--the REASON. And the object of wrong intention doesn't have to be unclothed. Many fully clothed women have reported that they have been "undressed with a person's eyes" although now days you hardly hear it because of the lack of modesty--AND dress!

Go to Vatican City and have a look at the artwork there. Naked people all over the place. Creating nude art and looking at nudity aren't sins. The human body is God's greatest work of art. Like most things, it's all about context. There's a big difference between a painting, photograph, or television show showing nudity in a reasonable context and pornography. If you're looking at something that's meant to cause sexual arousal, or you are particularly susceptable to sexual sin, and you know this going in, then you are opening yourself up to any number of sins. Just looking at nudity isn't a sin though. If it is, then you'd better close your eyes if you ever go to the Sistine Chapel
