  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I'm very surprised at the many questions on what is sin or not sin.......

Are we looking to others as to what sin is? Is it not the Holy Spirit that shows us these things? The more we rest in Jesus and the more we draw close to God and the more we are obediant to the word......does not the Holy Spirit deliver us? Don't we recognize what repels us as far as sin....don't we toss the things we use to hold dear as if they were a menstrual rag.......

some things the Holy Spirit will deliver us immediantly of certain desires....we will be in awe of the Holy Power of God and how he loves us.......

To constantly question if something is a sin is depending to much on peoples opinions and not Gods......:sigh:

We are all sinners and too many times we forget that when eagerly confirming sin in others and the behavior that displeases God. There is no degree of sin and we are all equally guilty of it, yet those born again in Christ and convicted by the Holy Spirit to repent know with repentance comes forgiveness.

Paul addresses this for us all in acknowledging his own sinful nature and salvation from it.

Romans 7:22-25

For I delight in the law of God, in my inner being, but I see in my members another law waging war against the law of my mind and making me captive to the law of sin that dwells in my members. Wretched man that I am! Who will deliver me from this body of death? Thanks be to God through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then, I myself serve the law of God with my mind, but with my flesh I serve the law of sin.
