...to which I reply, "Then why did Jesus Himself turn 180 gallons of water into fine wine in Cana?" ;)

Oh, but it coudn't have been wine, because then Jesus would have been condoning drinking!

(now why isn't my cart moving?)

It got to 32 here last night. Since our house is on piers, we had to turn off the water. That's never fun.

If it's gonna freeze, I'd like snow here. . .

I'm working in the Tug Hill area of upstate New York right now. Driving around, I noticed that a number of the houses on the hill have doors on the second floor... going to nowhere. It was explained to me that often, this time of year, those second floor doors are the only way for people to get in and our of their houses.

I drove down to Rome today, the closest town with an LCMS church. Big, beautiful church, and truly the warmest congregation I have ever been blessed to meet. After a short conversation with the pastor about the nature of the Body and the Blood, he invited me to Holy Communion. Those who did not partake (mainly children) were blessed in the name of Jesus, with the sign of the cross. They used the Divine Service II - first setting. They are beginning Book of Concord studies tommorrow night. Oh, if I could only find a church like this at home...

I know I'm asking for it (LOL), but. . .

Remember how the Johari window was overly positive? Well, somebody did it! Here's Johari's twin gone evil!

The Nohari Window!

So, go ahead and do it. I don't think you could really hurt me with things you put because I think that anybody could pretty much think these things of me at some point. Then, I also know that some of us have some inside jokes which would warrant some of these adjectives!

So move to New York. :D

Dan,

I suspect that you are becoming envious of the people that attend churches like this all the time. I am glad that you were invited to partake in Holy Communion. The Pastor must have realized that you understood the nature of communion well to have asked you.

I don't know if in having this opportunity because of all the travel you are doing with your job will push this need further, but I know that God is working in you here.

I am begenning to work on a letter to my pastor and congregation back home, explaining why I can not, in good conscience continue to be associated with the ELCA. I now consider myself a homeless Lutheran, and will continue to be such until I can settle down long enough to become a member of a Confessional Lutheran church. Whether that be LCMS, WELS, ELS, TAALC, or whatever.

I am trying to sort out the core issues, for my letter, such as authority of the Bible, santity of life, etc. But whenever I actually sit down to write this letter, I get all confused and distracted... It is a real struggle. One thing, I absolutely will not present this letter in my typical confrontative way. I need every person who reads it to understand that I do not condemn them, but only what their synod teaches.
