Okay, so not everybody watches American Idol but has it occured to anybody that Simon Cowell is really honest?

So here's my question: Can you be to honest?

Nothing wrong with honesty, but the way you worded it, the tone in your voice and the faces you make while being honest matter also. IMHO

Excellent, I agree.

It is your attitude of what you are saying. This one guy that did look really freaky, Simon made some really rude remark about. Sometimes it just isn't appropriate to talk out loud what you are thinking...common sense.

i don't think he's being honest for the sake of being honest... he wants to be nasty because thats the reputation he wants for himself. Ever notice Paula has a way of telling people they're not right for the show without destroying them in the process?

there's a difference between being honest and being nasty... sometimes the truth hurts but it doesn't have to be brutal every time ;)

So true!!

I keep complaining about the way Simon says things to people, and my husband says that that is just the way Brit's speak, they don't mean anything by it.

I'm sorry, making fun, laughing at , etc. the way people are is just wrong. There are ways to say the truth without deflating someones self esteem. Honesty mix with humility and respect is a must, IMO.

There's a HUGE difference between giving constructive feedback and telling someone they look like a marmoset.

In the times I've watched that program, I've concluded that Simon Cowell is a mean-spirited bully with an outsized ego -- and insecurities to match!

I often think that it is all entertainment even the roles of characters of the judges. Simon is so blanton rude with his honesty, so he makes it good entertainment for those who just watch it to see what he will say next ;)
