Silently Praying In Tongues???

I would like to share an experience of how Jesus used the gift of tongues to teach me the first year or so after I accepted his call.

I would in my mind have a question for Jesus. I then would get a tongue. My wife would then give me the answer to my question. This was, for a long time, one of the ways Jesus would communicate with me. After a year or so Jesus told me no more. He told me to pray to be sensitive and open to his touch and word all day long. My wife and I got into the routine of waiting until the children were in bed and then would go to Jesus. Jesus put a stop to that.
This is exactly what I meant about variations of the different Gifts.
This is absolutely beautiful.

I have prayed for a long time for God to allow me to pray in tongues but as yet I have not. Recently however whilst at a Christian Conference I was praying and my lips and tongue just started to move and I was still praying but not specifically or anything I can't really explain. I have found a few references online to praying silent in tongues but I'd never heard about it before. Is it possible?

Here is a scriptural reference from the Old Testament that sounds quite like what you describe.

1Sa 1:12And it happened, as she continued praying before the LORD, that Eli watched her mouth.

1Sa 1:13Now Hannah spoke in her heart; only her lips moved, but her voice was not heard. Therefore Eli thought she was drunk.

copyChkboxOff.gif
1Sa 1:14So Eli said to her, "How long will you be drunk? Put your wine away from you!"

copyChkboxOff.gif
1Sa 1:15But Hannah answered and said, "No, my lord, I [am] a woman of sorrowful spirit. I have drunk neither wine nor intoxicating drink, but have poured out my soul before the LORD.

copyChkboxOff.gif
1Sa 1:16Do not consider your maidservant a wicked woman, [fn] for out of the abundance of my complaint and grief I have spoken until now."

1Sa 1:17Then Eli answered and said, "Go in peace, and the God of Israel grant your petition which you have asked of Him."

really struck me. Because they are strangely similar to me... thankyou they have given me something to really reflect on and pray about.
