Things have gone to hades in a handbasket around here the last two days....
My niece, who is a registered nurse, was falsely accused of abusing a patient. She is being treated very badly by the hospital she works for and is resigning her position there. In order to not lose her home, she is going to go to to work for a company in a different state on the opposite side of the country for two years, and send money back to pay off the mortgage on the house so she won't lose it. She will be away from her husband and family for that time.
I have been looking for a part-time job, but pickings are thin; now it looks as if I'm going to start looking for a full-time job because......
Tonight my wife was fired from her full-time job. Long story, but she has been targeted ever since our son was born and she couldn't work for the last three months of the pregnancy. They've made life worse and worse for her, and she has gone from Paxil to Prozac to Celexa to Lexapro to Effexor.....now she's unemployed because of accusations (again false) by a ladder-climbing co-worker who wanted her job.
She was given a very generous severance package, but it won't last forever. So one or both of us better find a job soon. Not easy over the holidays. Depending on what kind of a pay cut we get hit with will determine if we have to sell our house and find something cheaper.
*sigh* Okay, that's my tale of woe. Now set 'em up, ZooMom; start at that end of the bar, and when I get to the last one on the other end, I want to be in a neat little heap right here.
