I never watch that disgusting show, but today the show started while I was busy cleaning the house. I walked to change the channel and saw a "preacher" with a "bible" giving "christian" advice to a woman before performing a "christian" marriage on the show. The blasphemy and whole scene left me breathless. Even a non-christian has to see what he (Jerry Springer) is doing is wrong. How can he use people's heartache, deviances, sins, etc. for "entertainment" We live in a sick world where the bouderies of decency is being pushed further and further. It makes me ashamed to be part of the human race.

JESUS COME QUICKLY!!:groupray: GOD HELP US!

LOL - I don't think we have to look any further than the "entertainment industry" to find the anti-christ.

This show is not for Christians. It digs for something wrong and lets the people enjoy it. People's feeling are hurt and some people love to have revenge. The plot of the story is that one person comes and the hurt one comes, then the other comes and then there is a fight which Steve must stop the fight and everyone cheers. The show must not go on and even worse, Christians love the show.

Arena--so fitting. The wildlife is the only part missing.

It's also sad to think that a Christian minister chose to do this. Programs like this will pick any target they can, and it's naive to imagine that it will not turn into a mockery.

The minister will be shown up as opportunistic, which is probably why he was there. Any gain that comes from his appearance will send his ministry in a very messy direction. He will reap what he sowed.

That's the Reverend Shnorr, and to my knowledge he is an actor, not an ordained minister. He does perform mock wedding ceremonies on the show, which usually result in a jilted lover in a love triangle slinging wedding cake at the couple being "married". It's the Jerry Springer show. It's supposed to be irreverent and shocking. It appeals to people who don't mind putting on tasteless outfits and acting like buffoons for their thirty minutes of TV exposure. Much of the show is scripted and stage.

I know I know. I felt the same way when I found out wrestling is fake.

:amen:

In the UK we have a lot of fake reality shows but not so much as in the US when they are all just underacted fiction for the most part. I am not sure why people even like these shows!

Yes, sort of like the going to the arena and watching the Christians get torn to death.
Yeah, except for the part where most of it is made-up and the participants are well-paid for it.

It's about as real as professional wrestling, guys.

I personally have no problem with Springer and don't see why it would be at all inappropriate for Christians to view, with some of Oprah's newagey ideas I could see Christians being uncomfortable.. with Springer there is no lying it's trash TV but it's a bunch of adults who don't mind making fools of themselves for their 15 minutes.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure that show is staged. I just roll my eyes and change the channel, but when you are forced to watch enough of it to get a coherent idea of what it's about... yuck. Some show was playing in my university's cafe the other day that was about nothing but "Which one is the baby's daddy?" I wonder why people will put themselves on these shows. I'm just not a fan of that stuff.
