In my (Australian) vocabulary 'shrimps' are tiny prawns. (In spite of the ad we never throw 'shrimps' on the barbie - only prawns)

Shrimps don't usually need pealing before eating, while prawns do. While you can theoretically eat prawn shells you may not enjoy the crunchy texture and risk getting shell fragments caught in your throat.

Mexico sends my neighbor freezedried mini shrimp. I guess it's freezedried or it's that process they used on dried fruit and vegys. No, these are regular size shrimp and i want to be able to just boil or fry them but the guts are there and you can't chew up their shell

I don’t think there is anyway to get around peeling shrimp unless you want to eat the shells.

You can buy prawns peeled in UK, even uncooked ones. Mostly king prawns though.
