  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

4 For [there is] no man [that] doeth any thing in secret, and he himself seeketh to be known openly. If thou do these things, shew thyself to the world.
How do you show God to people?
Say nothing but scripture? Carry your bible around with you all the time? Or many of the orther methods people use to force people into beliving all the things of God. The question I am asking is are you living your life in such a way that will give people a true picture of who God is are you living in a way that quietly shows you know the Father well?

6 Then Jesus said unto them, My time is not yet come: but your time is always ready. 7 The world cannot hate you; but me it hateth, because I testify of it, that the works thereof are evil.
Are you ready for this?
Are you ready at any moment of your life to show you know the father? Are you ready to speak, no better yet shout I KNOW GOD. As the famous quote by Saint Francis of Essise said “Preach the gosple at all times us words when neccisary”

16 Jesus answered them, and said, My doctrine is not mine, but his that sent me.
17 If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or [whether] I speak of myself. 18He that speaketh of himself seeketh his own glory: but he that seeketh his glory that sent him, the same is true, and no unrighteousness is in him.
What’s Mine is God’s what’s God’s is mine
Act only on exactly what you see God doing in your life right now. In Exodus 4:2God asks Moses “What’s in your hand” The accout carries on to tell about how God used what Moses had right on the spot to do amazing things. God and Moses had a covenental partnership or relationship to free a people in great bondage
13 Howbeit no man spake openly of him for fear of the Jews
What are you afraid of?
Fear often keeps you from doing or saying what God would have you do. Now you have probably heard fear is not from God. I would take that a step further JESUS CHRIST IS FROM GOD and Jesus Christ is love. Now it say’s in the bible that there is no fear in love therefore there is no fear in Christ and since we are in Christ and Christ came from God we also are sent by God to do his will.

24 Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment. 28 Then cried Jesus in the temple as he taught, saying, Ye both know me, and ye know whence I am: and I am not come of myself, but he that sent me is true, whom ye know not.
God asks do you know me?
Do you know me well enough to judge and act and function in purity as Jesus Christ did when he walked on earth?
I don’t need to state that this is a loaded question. I know I used to beat myself up that I wasn’t perfect or even close to where I wanted to be in my walk with God. I can now say with full confidence that it’s ok to fall. It’s ok not know exactly where you are going. And IT’S O.K. TO BE LESS THAN PERFECT. All I’m saying is to look at life through the eyes of compassion and true love that Jesus did to choose to see life as God’s and not your own ideas of what life is. I start by waking up in the morning and reading my bible just pick a chapter and read it asking God to help you apply what you learn and if you mess up or make a mistake it’s ok God approves of you. But don’t fall back on that or stop trying just pick up the pieces and try again, moving forward as you go.

Conclusion
If you want to be seen don’t do what you would do but look to God and he will flow out of you. Those who want to be seen for their own glory act out of and instill fear. Judge in righteousness that is out of the outflow of God in the purity of the complete law which is Jesus Christ.

God has put me in a postition where my actions are a witness to my belief. I work in my church's preschool. The parents see me everyday and I converse with them about everything. I don't just stand there and spew out verses and such. God knows I'm not the boldest person to witness. He has put me there so parents who are not believers will see my fruits of the spirit. Many of the parents start coming to our church because they "feel" that something is different, and they want to know what they're missing.

That's how I show people God. :) By my actions more than my words.

18There is no fear in love; but (AW)perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves punishment, and the one who fears is not (AX)perfected in love.

this thread concerns me, because i live pretty much a disciplined disciples life, but when it all comes down, one of my big problems is often that i do not have the courage to speak up, and am afraid of human reaction rather than fearing god. yesterday during my bible study while i thought of this thread the following thing came to my mind:

satan is the father of lies (says the bible)
fear makes people speak lies (says my experience)

maybe that helps someone.

work with children is far more important than we think

be blessed you both

I really want to know the answer to the question -- how do we show God?

I love the Lord.... I talk about hardly anything else.... He is changing my life and altering my personality (thank goodness!;)) -- but I live wayyyyyyyy out in the country and have been mostly unemployed for two years (I work as a substitute teacher). I recognize that there are many "good people" who are not Christians or who are merely nominal or baby Christians..... people largely do not enquire about my faith, except online --- because it's online that I'm known by my words.

How do I show God?

In Exodus 4:1-2 When Moses is before the burning bush He asks God how the people of Israel will know that God sent him and God said "What is in your hand?" God is asking what is readily available to you right know. What do you enjoy doing? what are you able to do right now? After you've established that. God tells Moses to (Vs. 3) "Throw it on the ground" What ever you have is God's already so acknowledge that. In faith offer God your gift. For example recently I decided start greeting at the church every couple sunday's and discipling a some girls on saturdays for a couple hours. If you enjoy doing devotionals online then do that recognizing that it's Christ in you that gives you the ability to write. Then as you are faithful with the small things God will bless you.

Blessings in Christ

This reminds me of one line in a song “ I don’t care what you think, my Father he know’s me well” Now this struck me. He didn’t say “I know my Father well” Now it say’s in 2 Timothy 2:15 Study to SHOW yourself aproved…” Notice it does not say Study to PROVE yourself approved. Since God your Father knows you and you are in Christ YOU ARE APPROVED.

Now to say that and to live it are two different things. So the obvious question is how do you live it well What you believe you are in your heart and think in your mind is what you act and live out. What I have been doing is looking through the scriptures for verses on two things: The character of God and who I am in Christ and reading them out loud over and over again every day. As I’ve done this I have realized more and more the love of God and who he made me to be thus taking away fear.
