Should you date a divorcee who was not divorced for biblical reasons?

No. There are millions of other potential marriage partners who are 'kosher.' Why date someone if you have any qualms at all about whether it's a sin. Jesus said, "He that marries her that is divorced commits adultery." (Or put away depending on your translation. Divorced women are put away, too.)

No there is not. There aren't millions of women who are serious Christians as marriage prospects out there. It is slim pickings!

Especially where I am in the San Francisco bay area. If I were a Pagan, this place would be ideal, but Christians here are a small minority, and Reformed Christians an even smaller minority.

Hello EasyMack

You make a valid and interesting point. I'd like to consider this, it was preached at my church I once belonged.
Hebrews 13:4 Let] marriage [be] had in honor among all, and [let] the bed [be] undefiled: for fornicators and adulterers God will judge.. My pastor or if recall a visiting pastor made a distinction that God honors ALL MARRIAGES, and yes there was a collective and audible gasp in the congregation, because we tend to think that Christians have the Godopoly on marriage. Not true, and as soon as we grasp this concept , we might be able to approach marriage with a much different attitude. All that being said, is that there is no distinction marriage is marriage in God's eye's, and he holds the non-believer to the same responsibility as the believer. The sanctity is the union of marriage- hence Holy matrimony. It is what God has put together: Matthew 19:5-6 For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh? Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.” So that no man can put marriage, any marriage.

Since God put marriage together, a man and woman (quoting scripture not an opinion), then I submit that Christian- and non-Christian alike are held to the same standards when it comes to marriage.

Evangelizing in San Francisco is offensive.

So the rationale according to the logic for some here is that the Bible endorses staying with someone who's unfaithful, hmmm... no I don't think the God of the Bible says that in scripture
Well if you are correct then why would the bible say marrying someone after a divorce is adultery? Well of course unless you weren't the one divorcing since obviously you can't stop someone from divorcing you. I'd still work hard to not have someone divorce me.

MMm, well whatever someones view I simply posted mine. I'll leave it at that.

Why do you have to date a local girl? With the Internet, you can find women lining up looking for men online and date them through Skype. That's a cheap way to date, btw. :)

Is it worse to date or marry an atheist than it is to date or marry woman who is legally divorced, but wasn't rightly divorced according to Christ? If the atheist repents, she can become a Christian.

I'm not encouraging dating atheists, btw.

Substitute almost any other description of a human (e.g., Caucasian, Israeli, African, Hispanic, Hindu, Sikh, Antipodean, French, Arab, Asian etc) and that could be discrimination.

Say "atheist" and it's OK.

I just read somewhere that atheists are now the largest minority group in USA.

You can put Hindu in the blank. A Christian should not marry a Hindu.

Sure it is. Discrimination is not always a bad thing. If we are honest, we discriminate all the time. If you are a good boss, you give the promotion to the hard worker whose able to handle more responsibility, discriminating against the lazy, the less qualified, the less motivated, and the less able. Teachers discriminate against students who don't do well on the tests and assignments by giving them lower grades.

This is dating an marriage. Let's please keep this one area free from anti-discrimination rules. Would you want to be randomly be assigned a spouse in a nondiscriminatory manner, regardless of your preferences for looks, age, weight, personality, values, not having STDs etc.?

More than Hispanics, blondes, or people with an index finger longer than their middle finger?

So true, but you'll be attacked for saying it.
