Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

That's not personal that's an accurate statement. There is no reason what so ever for us to be trying to start fight with most the board further more it's nothing more than a backdoor attempt to legitmize a flame.

Yeah it might not happen if something really unexpected happened like Erwin changed the rules back. What you like to see as a bold stand myself and others view as just trying to pick a fight for no reason. As far as making CC sancutary forum rules limiting who is a member of CC and posting limitations are the way that will be accomplished not through inflammtory banners placed here.

It can be closed by request of the OP only, or a major rule violation that can not other wise be fixed.
I think some good points have been made and perhaps we all can re-examine what we want do here.

Personaly I think we should go something along the lines Christ is the only true path. Unless people really do want to stir the pot so to speak and make a bold statement if so I see turn the banner into something about homosexuality is a sin or that abortion is always murder. If we are going try and make a bold statment and stir things up it needs to be about something real not some little pharse to make us the members feel better.

How about something like "Conservative Christians - Followers of the Teachings and Traditions of God and His Word" or "Conservative Christians - Believers in God's Unchanging Word" or "Conservative Christians - We believe in God's Word and believe that Jesus is our Lord"? I think that the "real Christians" thing would be a little too vague because, as others have pointed out, only Jesus knows who here are "real Christians." Just a thought.

...and a very good thought it is. "Real" of course doesn't mean anything in practice since any view of the religion, including the most bizarre and unconventional, is considered the "real" one by whoever holds it.
