Should We Or Shouldn't We...

Ask relationship advice from secular (non-christian) people? If we say that we just look at it but don't use it...just being curious about what they say...is this ok? Or should we just as advice of other Christians?

You can ask advice from anyone...... sometimes you'll get good advice, sometimes bad.... whether they are Christian or not!

No matter where the advice comes from, you have to weigh it against scripture and your own consciences. If it doesn't jibe, then don't act on it.

Nothing much that I could add - I would have no problem seeking ideas from a non-Christian friend, but as others have said it's important that you weigh it up to that Scripture says.

All truth is God's truth. So I would think that good, healthy advice would apply as well.

Secular advice can be helpful sometimes, but if you're truly seeking Christian advice from a godly perspective, then it is best to seek strong Christians for advice.

I'd ask both, and I'd also ask people who aren't professionals either. Just regular married people or people who have been dating a while. Also, I'd ask many different people for advice instead of just one of each. Just go out, collect what advice you can, and think it over. When you're done thinking, pray and consult the Bible and then think some more. Talk it over with your partner as well. Things should work out.

Two ways of looking at it i find.

Firstly is go to christians with advice on spiritual advice or things like sex before marriage etc.

With all other matters, ie this top or that, this stereo or that (whatever really), feel free to ask your non christian friends..

But do make sure you are taking advice with a grain of salt, and from a christian (who is mature) for the important matters of life.

Experience has shown me that wisdom is not confined to believers only. Sometimes the best advice can come from a non Christian.

It's part of life to learn what and who you can trust.
