  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Should we have a celebration that some were sent away to a strange kind of freedom that is now corrupted and believe that all that ocean stops it spreading back here ?

Is it not worth celebrating getting rid of those nutters? :)

Secret societies have been around for thousands of years. Every where the Christians went, they were soon to follow. And now they are in control of most of the churches.

A very significant observation, but did you not realise this thread is for asking questions , not answers ?

Do you not like Americans? :p

Do we not all love all Americans , but have reservations about the democracy of their current government's election and regret its trampling on the world and the US Constitution ?

Would the Americans not rather share that with the 50,000 odd little kids who starve miserably and die on 'Thanksgiving day' ?
Do you think that it is not possible to both feast and share? (Dt. 26:11)

Can men confuse a holy memorial sabbath with a gluttonous orgy of greed , empty transient pleasures and laughter as we watch the poor starve in misery , ten times more little children EVERY DAY as died in 911 , as the 'West' makes itself fat and very ill even to death from over-eating ?

Is it not a mistake to think God likes to see this every year against His law of Love to all men , which is our only way to love Him by keeping it ?

Do you realise you sound like the man who lost a pound and found a shilling? ^_^

Is it not possible to both please God and enjoy oneself?
Did Jesus not enjoy feasting? (Matt. 11:19; John 5:1)

Given that this thread is almost entirely British, do you think that we are more prone to questioning things than are the Americans?
Or is it simply due to their holidays?

Are you suggesting they are all overcome by turkey and alcohol, and lying comatose under the table? Already? ^_^

If one did obey God and thus cease sinning, would one not have blissful peace inside and no end of trouble in this world ?

2 Timothy 2:19; Nahum 1:7, Matthew 3:11, 1 Peter 1:6-7 ,...etc ?

Do most men keep the memorial feasts to His yet-unfolding plan set for all time by God , or just behave like sinful gluttons and not care about the starving poor of this earth ?

Matthew 19:21, Mark 10:21, Luke 14:13, Revelation 3:16-17

Have you not heard even Americans claim that their education system dumbs people down deliberately ?
