  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Should I worry about this?

I'm 20 weeks along. Last night in bed I had 2 or 3 pretty big contractions (not Braxton-Hicks). They were hours apart. I can feel the baby moving and it seems like normal movement. I didn't think it was a big deal, but I told my husband and my mother-in -law and they seemed pretty worried about it. Do I really need to be concerned about this? I've also been kind of dizzy this week and think I'm getting a cold.

i've had a TON of random pains like that throughout my pregnancy. just call your doctor's office and ask them what they think. my doctor always told me that if they were ten or so minutes apart (when i was around 20 weeks), that i should worry. however, if the baby's movement seemed normal, if i wasn't having any nausea or vomiting, and no fever, then i was fine.

also -- the dizziness and the cold are most likely unrelated and just normal parts of pregnancy. i've had them both the entire nine months, and i've had a completely healthy, normal pregnancy.

With there only being two of them, I wouldn't worry. But if it continues regularly, then call. You may decrease your activity for a while... I'll assume you didn't have a preterm birth last time and you certainly don't want one this time either. At your next doctors appointment I would mention it, but I wouldn't call the doctor with just two... but that's just me.... follow your instincts

Make sure you're getting plenty of water as dehydration can bring on contractions.

I'll second that, I went into labor a month early with my 3rd son because I had food poinsoning and hadn't been able to keep anyhting down and was too weak and misrable to get water.......

Once I go t to the hospital an hour after the contactions had started I was dialated to a 5, they hydrated me with an IV which stopped the labor, but since I was dialated so far already they went ahead and broke my water. He was fine and healthy:bow: but dehydration can bring on labor....drink lots of water
